Anybody have one of the Coleman or other brand types similar to this Amazon Link? How do they hold up, do they work, etc.
Please no redneck comments. Thanks. |
| I've had that one for two years. Some friends of mine used it at my lake cabin for a few weeks and gave it to me when they left. My kids abused the hell out of it and it still works great, but the temp rarely gets above 95F. Kinda like a big, heated kiddy pool. But it seems pretty durable. |

We got one around Black Friday last year, it has worked pretty well so far. It seems pretty solid once it's inflated, like my 180lb ass can sit on the side without the thing collapsing in on itself. There's obviously no seat, but the bottom is padded and comfortable enough. The "jets" are just air bubble coming up from a ring inside the rim of the bottom, so don't expect too much. When the air bubbles are on, the heater is not able to run, so it will start to get cooler. It took me a little while to get the chlorine & PH levels good, now it seems fine. My only real complaint is the increased cost on our electric bill to constantly run it. I've started to turn the temp down or turn it off completely sometimes to save on the electric bill. Takes about 1-1.5 days to get hot again, I turn it on Thursday to get it hot for Friday & the weekend.
ETA: you have to clean the two filters pretty regularly to keep it operating (hot) properly. |

Have you noticed any UV damage or is yours in a sheltered area? |

It's been inflated since we got it, I drained it & cleaned it once so far, mainly because I didn't know what I was doing and it started to get green algae. Chlorine tabs have kept the water clean ever since. It gets direct sun like half the day. I haven't noticed any UV damage so far, but the top gets pretty dirty from trees & rain depending on the season. For the price, my goal was to try for at least three years of life/use, anything past that would just be a bonus |
