I saw a bio-luminescent insect that I've never seen before.

Down by the little brook, amongst the leaves I found a bug that looks like a Sal Bug (aka Rollie-Polie) except it's butt glowed.  It was the size of a large Sal Bug.

Any Ideas what it was?

My wife thought it was a "Night Crawler" but I always called the giant worms that come out on rainy summer nights "Night Crawlers".

I'll try and catch one and post a pic.

Are you sure it was an insect and not a bio-luminescentf freshwater dynoflagellate?

Very similar, but this one was less translucent.  The light was definately in the tail.
