So 2 weeks ago we got heavy rain In south FL
Woke up to 2-3 inches of water in my car No windows down, sunroof was closed I checked everywhere possible to where the water could have came from.. Nothing So a little later In the day I'm driving to pick up my little brother and streets are flooded in some parts I go through a puddle that does not appear deep at all, After picking up my little bro noticed some rattling coming from my car (06 BMW 325i) Pull over to check and my bumper undercarriage guard is gone, one fog light hanging out and other one pushed back.. So my car being what is I made a claim, Appraiser came talked with him he took a bunch of pictures and stuff.. Today I get a call an email with the estimate.. I am told that they made two claims with two deductibles and the appraiser told the ins. Company that I admitted I left my sunroof back 75$/ hr mechanical. The estimate came out to $1,200. $300 for parts and 870 for labor.. So I called BMW who said they're labor per hour is $175. Holy shit? Sorry for the long story I've never made an Ins claim Any suggestions? |

1. Just because BWM charges $175 an hour, doesn't mean your insurance is going to pay $175 an hour to get it fixed. 2. Don't accept the estimate. Go get a few estimates, file them to your insurance showing what you expect to pay. 3. Technically, You have two claims, first for the flooded interior, second for the undercarriage, lights. They will charge you the deductible on both. |
