"fondling", as in..... [?] Nevermind... (sheesh). BTW who makes the SA ultracompact? My Taurus Millennium has a built-in trigger lock. Do I use it? I've had the gun for 1.5 years and didn't remember it was there until you mentioned it. I have external trigger locks for my other handgun(s) and I have never used them, either. The implementation is unacceptable. |

Quoted: You may not be aware that they are there. Not easy to notice. All 3 of mine have them. Did you buy them new? Maybe the early ones did not have them , Not sure. I don't think I have it. My USP 40 was purchased in 96 and the 45 in 98. Both were NIB. Prebans baby! Can you take a pic? |

California requires that a pistol be locked while transporting. On my Tarus revolver the locking device hung from my rear view mirror until people started to know what they were. Didn't want a cop doing a cavity seach or some punk to break the window looking for a pistol locked in my safe. On the Springfield 1911's one just replaces the spring housing for about $12 or so. Easy job. |

Quoted: Yeah, and if you rack the slide with the goddamn thing on, it bends something or other so mags don't drop free with the hammer back. I have to send mine in for service, I'm going to ask them to take the fucking thing out. This is why they come from the factory with a BIG STICKER on the grip that says, "WEAPON IS LOCKED! REFER TO OWNER'S MANUAL" If you manage to completely ignore the label and force the slide back it bends the hammer strut. You have to force it back, not simply rack the slide. Technically it's not a trigger lock, but a hammer lock. It's supposed to keep the hammer from moving back far enough to engage the sear, therefore making the pistol inoperable. |
