I think our cost for the 2wd model (shaft drive to sidecar wheel) was right at $2,000. We also stocked all the parts and most looked like they were sand cast by a mongoloid then immediately dunked in cosmoline and wrapped in paper. Lol an entire cylinder head was like $30. Temperamental was an understatement. I was the poor bastard that had to roll a half dozen of the fuckers out onto the front lot every morning. |

View Quote I had a friend who was involved with importing Chinese motorcycles and side cars. They were BMW designs that were built under license. I think they were made in the 60s or 70s, and then stuck in crates in a warehouse. My friend who was an IT guy who traveled to China a lot to do things, and our main sales guy in China made friends with a Chinese guy. They'd buy the bikes from someone, have them overhauled, then shipped to the US. They were supposedly pretty decent. Friend passed away in 2011 or 2012. |

Original STR-1 specialized transport robot used on the roof of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Lunokhod designers were called back from retirement, and in two weeks rovers were made which used nuclear decay heat sources for internal rack climate control, their electronic systems were already hardened to partly resist radiation.[19] This benefit allowed the 1986 designers to quickly devise a derived vehicle type for nuclear disaster recovery work. On July 15, two rovers, called STR-1,[9] were delivered to the Chernobyl accident zone and proved useful for clearing debris, earning awards for the designers. Due to extremely high radiation levels, both STR-1 rovers eventually failed, and human workers (later named liquidators) were called in once again.[19][21] View Quote Lunokhod programme Lunokhod 201 After years of secret engineering development and training, the first Lunokhod (vehicle 8ЕЛ№201) was launched on February 19, 1969. Within a few seconds the rocket disintegrated and the first Lunokhod was lost. The rest of the world did not learn of the rocket's valuable payload until years later.[9] The failure resulted in the radioactive heat source, polonium 210, being spread over a large region of Russia.[10] View Quote |

You're looking for something that isn't there. That area is only 1700 feet long and has street lights all down it. Also, why have a disgusted runway there? The place isn't a secret and a runway at place like that wouldn't be out of place. Attached File Attached File |
