Ok, did not know the commies copied the Cobra.

More like they copied the AC Ace that the Cobra was based on. The ZiL-112 came out in 1961 and the Cobra in 1962.

Rutile ore.  That’s a bad made up thing that won’t die.
Not the alloy sheet and plate.
That was made by Timet and Crucible primarily, maybe a little made by RMI
You can read about some of the issues Timet had making the alloy in Curtis Peebles book Dark Eagles.  Some things don’t change much.

Although Timet did buy a good bit of scrapped soviet submarine hulls to remelt, some time in the 1990s.  I never did get to see any of it, but they had a hatch saved for a while.

When your country has eleven time zones(ELEVEN!!)and not much road network, choppers play a huge part in your country's infrastructure.

Shit, from Florida to Hawaii is only six time zones, think about that. Russia is fucking huge.

That website is awesome.   It also contained a perfect example of why this stuff is interesting.

This only happens in bare chested, blueberry hill singing, billionaire, "ex" KGB, evil bond villain land.

The T-34s are the tanks they used for the 2020 tank biathlon, it's surprising that they have to buy back T-34 from other countries.

I can’t find it anymore but there was video from Libya or Syria that showed a Toyota pickup with a MI-24 rocket pod mounted in the bed. There are several videos that show them using it, but the one I can’t find is the truck itself catching fire when they ripple-fire a volley of rockets, and the backblast ignited the cab.
