TL,DR version;

Nobody their age knows or cares what an Oprah or a Whoopi is and doesn’t want to know.

Nobody their age is watching CNN, MSNBC or any broadcast news on a “TV”

Nobody their age subscribes to Satellite radio (XM Sirius)

Obama is that old guy who was President when they “were kids”.

Interestingly, they all voted for Trump. Why? Because they are all college graduates with in entry level positions on a career path but can’t afford move out of their parents home, can’t afford a new car, don’t believe they will ever be able to buy a house and are tired of walking into a woman’s restroom to see some dude in there pulling up his panties.

They would like to meet nice guys who are looking for a relationship (not a Tinder date) and they would like to be able work towards a plan for the future that actually seems achievable.

Republicans have a great opportunity to recruit young voters, if they can connect the dots.

This election needs to be a giant wake up call to those on our side who think we've "lost the country to the left" and have given up on the younger generation.

Get away from legacy media and you'll see that there's an enormous political shift occurring and the Democrats fucked themselves with the COVID shenanigans, censorship, and the light speed run to the far left with the trans bullshit.

They are so entrenched in the education system, all federal and much of state bureaucracy, media and popular culture that I still say the momentum and power is mostly still on their side.

This election result is amazing and I am thankful but it is one small piece. Perhaps that proofs that at least the ship could be righted with enough work. But it is just beginning.

My 18 year old daughter drove home 2.5 hours from college to vote, in person with Dad, for Trump. There are a lot of worthless 18-30 year olds….but there are also millions of them that were raised by Gen X parents the same way we were raised. That group will hopefully carry the torch when we are no longer able.

Great to hear this, OP. God bless your daughter and her friends. My kids are (married with families) in their 30s and are on the same page and verse. Have been independent thinks (and conservatives) as far back as I can remember.

Don't want to get my hopes up but right now, see a ray of hope.

My kids are 30/27/25 and they prescribe to the OP sentiments - they do not consume ANY traditional MSM bullshit.  And they just want to live their lives as they want to without being told how evil they are and how much degenerate bullshit they have to "accept" and tolerate.

My experience mirrors the OP's.

I have 29 year old son and 25 year old daughter.  Neither watch any form of news, they get all their information from social media and neither one has any interest in politics.

I think before I leave this rock, we are going to have to acknowledge the fact that social media was a cancer on society.

I have 3 daughters. The oldest is 30 and more right wing than I am. Youngest is 28 and leans Right. The middle one is... Well, she told me repeatedly in 16-20 that she couldn't stand "That Man" whenever Trump came up. She had a baby out of wedlock to a loser who isn't around and has basically been on part time jobs and welfare. I help her enough to keep her and the kid housed and fed, but that's it, besides spending all the time I can with the grandson so he has a male in his life.

She called me yesterday very excited and happy and informed me she voted for Trump and hopes she can improve her situation now. I am shocked and proud. She's 26.

Pretty much this but not FaceBook which they tell me is only for “old people”. X (formerly Twitter) is still a thing. Republicans have an opportunity here. Unfortunately, the Leftist’s control of entertainment and celebritydom make anything Republicans create immediately “uncool”.

Elon did us a huge favor in buying and reforming Twitter. I believe it was more pivotal in this election than most conservatives realize.

Add in DEI where the younger generation works their butt off just to not get hired because they don't meet the companies diversity goals. I feel like this just adds to the woes of the younger generation if they run up against it.

All of these progressive ideals don't mean a thing when kids can afford food gas or housing. I had this chat with my high schooler and he agreed.

Bad news for young folks in the near term, there's a depression coming.  It will pass, but it will be a hard landing.

My 31 year old son is more conservative than I am.

My 19 year old son is definitely left, but not of the woke variety. He just doesn't want to see anyone get persecuted for being who they are. He doesn't like to express his views and we generally don't talk about stuff like that. I am pretty sure he thinks I'm racist, sexist and transphobe, which by his measure I surely am.

Neither watches tv or uses fb or twitter.

Op, I see exactly the same thing.

Other than Snapchat, which is basically communicating with their friends, my kids don’t use social media at all.  They think it’s for old people and would not be caught dead on the likes of Facebook or Twitter. And they definitely don’t watch TV, just Netflix for movies and YouTube.

I think younger generations will become loyal voters for the GOP so long as the GOP can keep them. ETA: not necessarily based on feels, which IMO drives DNC loyalty, but based on making life’s necessities more affordable.

I'm not much older than your daughter. I was in high school when Obama was President and Ron Paul ran for President.

Ron Paul and Rand Paul are probably the second greatest influences on my political thinking after my parents. There are young people who are more right leaning. If the Republican party could shift their messaging to focus on freedom and the economy, I personally think they would do better-- so many politicians focus on implementing a new agenda (ban abortion, ban guns, regulate speech, etc.) instead of reforming, improving (or removing) laws that are already in place. But that's just my opinion.

In my little circle of neighbors here with young adult children old enough to vote, all voted Trump, even two going to very liberal colleges here in CO. Two of these are young women that can see through the BS and interestingly enough both have taken a liking to women such as Laura Trump, Tomi Lahren, Brett Cooper, Megyn Kelly and such.

I’m a GenXer. I still think MP3s are new technology. You don’t want me heading-up the Republican IT program. “THEY” are people who can identify exactly what platforms these younger voters are using and exploit it BEFORE the Democrats figure it out. Start now because the midterms and 2028 will be here sooner than we think and playing catch-up with information technology is always a losing strategy. One thing I do know about IT is that four years is the difference between cutting edge and an aging technology.

The Democrats fucked-up, this time around, by believing that anyone with their own “book club” was influencing ANYBODY under 50 years old.

Thirty years ago, I had a contemporary version of your daughter working for me.  She had the typical lefty views.  Stated she wanted to be a Social Justic Warrior.  She drank the kool-aid.

Her current skill set, 30 years later is barista.

I work with a Transman, I'm unfortunately acquainted with another, and see random Transmen on a regular basis.  And I'm not walking around with a clipboard looking for them, I'm just walking out to the parking lot minding my own business.
