My first boat, on the way to PD; OOD caught this interloper with the Type 18.
For those unfamiliar, going to PD(periscope depth) is one of the most hazardous things submarines do. The acoustic environment can totally change in a matter of feet effectively blocking sound data from getting to where we are.
We raise the scope before proceeding to PD and the OOD does circles on the Conn looking for shapes and shadows. The Type 18 is full of cool gizmos including a camera. He just happened to catch this guy and trigger the camera.
