So I have My windows task manager open and I'm on the networking tab. This shows me my % network Utilization. normaly its at 3-5%. when it's normal all the pages upload quickly and I have great download speed. now recently my % has been going down to near 0 and when I try to connect to a web site I get this error "www.ar15.com could not be found try again latter" or "requested operation timed out" I wait about 30 - 45 seconds and my % returns to normal and I can conect to the site again. Computer stats: Win XP home Mozilla Firefox 0.9.3 Cable modem to hub to my computer ( hard wired all the way. no wireless ) While I was typing this my % went from normal to low and back again about 8 times. |

Sounds like a DNS problem where you're not able to resolve "www" names. Try connecting to http://69.95.2.67 next time it locks up - that's the IP address of AR15.com. If you're able to connect with an IP address but not a "www" address the ISP is having trouble with their DNS server which converts between the two. Rarely will an ISP actually admit that they're having trouble. |
