I would have no problem with formal attire at Lodge. I'm one of the few at our new combined lodge that consistently wear coat and tie. Sure it's more comfortable, but would we really lose members if we requested a little more class? Of course, I wouldn't support kicking someone out if they didn't show up in tails... I work at a "technology" company and I'm considered overdressed in Dockers and polo shirts, so I'm not one of those business/lawyer types that wants everyone to be as uncomfortable as they are. I just think it imparts a level of solemnity that's appropriate for the work we do. |

I'm a senior DeMolay, PMC & Chevalier from Mill Valley Chapter, Mill Valley, CA. past Deputy Master Councilor of the Redwood Empire Division. Raised (by my dad) in 1983 in Mill Valley Lodge #356. not active in the line. Retirement is only 7 years away. After THEN? You betcha!!! |

Wow! I missed the discussion to start this forum!!!
Raised in college at Mountain Lodge #99 in Frostburg, Maryland. Left there as Junior Warden. Joined Susquehanna Lodge #130. The first night I showed up, they had a vacant seat for Junior Warden! Was Master there twice, 2005 and 2006. Still go to every practice. Fill in where needed. We have recycled a lot of the Past Masters. I still do all the 1st Degrees. I have initiated every Brother in my Lodge for the past 7 years. |

I'm a jeans/t-shirt pretty much all the time kind of guy, dressing up for me is usually Dockers and a polo shirt. I won't even show up at Lodge if I'm not wearing a button down shirt and a tie! I do need to get a jacket though (I don't own one now, never really needed one). |

I've been out of the loop while I've been overseas, but even though I am not currently in good standing, I would like to get caught up. I have a PNP Superintendent who has offered to have me come along to his lodge here in the PI, when I'm not in Afghanistan.

I honestly don't remember the year I was raised, but it was around 1992-93. I was pretty active the first few years. I held a minor appointed position. The time demands of being a single parent started to overtake my life, and I was little more than a dues-payer for many, many years.
With the youngest kid soon to be off to college, I have more time these last few years. One of my sons has expressed interest, and I look forward to that day.
