Had a couple of uninvited guests in the hangar this AM. I was waiting outside, cocked and locked when they exited. 911 dispatcher said to not engage. These two walked within 15' of me and a loaded .45 and never saw me. LCSO is still looking for them. Knowing now what I didn't know then,,,, I would have challenged them.

I did mention the Federal thing to the locals. They did bring in the helicopter with FLIR and K9. Only thing found was a broken beer bottle down the street in the direction they were moving. |

How much time does it take to earn the money for the parts, the tools, or god forbid the aircraft? You'd be OK if I locked you up for that amount of time? Theft is the same thing, you are stealing time people have spent to earn that item. No different in my eyes. Sorry if you are on a gun board and feel that having a firearm to protect yourself as you stop people from stealing your earnings is a bad thing. |

I can see and understand both sides of the coin.
Would I have wanted to prone them out? Yes. However, the presence of alcohol could easily mean you're confronting a pair of drunks with impaired judgement, and more balls than brains. If they forced you to shoot, you may well end up the next George Zimmerman. Especially once the media found out a dispatcher told you not to interfere. Hope they get picked up. |
