I looked for threads on this but couldn't find any on mobile so what case are you guys running on your iPads?  I would like to find a pretty rugged one with a cover for the front in addition to the screen protector.

What do you use?

My sister has an Otterbox Defender on her iPad Mini.  Seems pretty damn rugged.  I've also used a Nexus 7 with the same case on it for awhile, and it withstood some good drops.

I never could see the sense in buying thin, light piece of electronics just to put it in a big bulky case. That's why I use Magpul covers for my iphone and ipad mini.

I also use magpul cases on my iPhone and iPad.   They work and look great.

Because putting a bulky case on a bulky electronic device is even worse.

I run a thin, genuine leather peel and stick ZAAG cover on the back, and a non-reflective plastic protector on the screen.
Keeps the thin, sleek feel of the iPad, but gives a lot more grip. Won't help at all if you drop it, but you're less likely to.
This is for an iPad that never leaves the house (excepting yard and patio).

I have a Belkin case, but an otterbox may be better if you want something more rugged.

The Lifeproof case for the iPad is waterproof and shockproof and is much less bulky than the Otterbox series of cases.

Both of my kids use the Lifeproof Nuud case since you can actually physically touch the screen in the Nuud case.

If you haven't already, I would HIGHLY recommend buying the extended warranty for the iPad, its well worth the money.

Agreed. I have a couple of these that I switch out as desired. Not rugged, but protects it from the basic problems and doesn't add a lot of bulk.

I like the CaseCrown one slightly better.

If you want rugged, there's no beating the Otterbox, but so. much. bulk.

I have the griffin survivor. I use it in the field quite a bit and it holds up well.

If you want something more tactical Pelican also makes a really nice case http://www.pelican.com/mobile/vault_tablet.html

Incipio ATLAS has been pretty solid for me. Also gets good reviews. Solid waterproof* protection with minimal bulk.

*Can be submerged but has limits (as with most).

ETA: Dang, iPad, not iPhone. Sorry, disregard post.

I use a Beetle Defense case on my iPad Air. It works great so far and was considerably cheaper than anything similar.

Started with an Otterbox but the rubber got slack and oily.  Currently using a Life Proof which is well designed and supposedly waterproof, but has a crappy cover/stand.  Pelican has a new design called the Vault that seems well thought out and maybe even superior.
