The Houthis say they fired dozens of ballistic missiles and drones at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, a main southern hub for Saudi Arabia's air war. Aircraft shelters, radars, runways and ammunition depots were hit, causing "major losses," according to the group. They framed it as a response to more than 300 Saudi airstrikes across Yemen over five days and warned of larger attacks to come. No Saudi assessment or independent evidence of damage has emerged.

And I read about this today: A Chinese Satellite Suddenly Shattered in Orbit A Chinese reconnaissance satellite has broken apart in a rare high-altitude orbit, creating dozens of tracked debris fragments that may remain around Earth for centuries, according to reports from Gizmodo and orbital tracking experts. The failure of Yaogan-50 (02) has added a new debris field to one of the more difficult regions of space to manage. The fragments are now traveling in a highly retrograde orbit, a path that moves against the direction of Earth’s rotation and creates challenging conditions for future spacecraft operations. The Yaogan-50 (02) satellite launched on March 15, 2026, aboard a Long March 6A rocket and reached its planned operational orbit at an altitude of about 590 miles (952 kilometers) above Earth. The spacecraft was part of China’s Yaogan-50 series, a group of remote-sensing satellites officially described as platforms for land surveys, agricultural monitoring, and disaster response. According to orbital analyst Jonathan McDowell, the U.S. Space Force cataloged 43 debris objects linked to the satellite breakup on September 4. The cause of the event remains unknown, leaving several possible explanations, including a propulsion system failure, battery-related malfunction, or a collision involving another object. The fragments remain concentrated near the original orbital path of the spacecraft, which has an inclination of 142 degrees. This highly unusual orbit places the debris in a region where tracking and collision avoidance become more complex because spacecraft moving in opposite directions can experience extremely high-speed encounters. The incident highlights the growing challenge of managing Earth’s increasingly crowded orbital environment. Every fragmentation event adds new objects that must be monitored, creating additional pressure on operators of active satellites. Doesn't get into why of the 18,000 active satellites on orbit right now, a Chinese surveillance satellite just happened to be the one to break up. Pure coincidence, I'm sure..... We currently have robot battles on the front lines of Ukraine. How far are we from satelite battles? I expect hacking is the first weapon and maybe the reason why that satellite just fell apart. ASATs have been a thing for a while, but I’m insure there’s declassified or unclassified data on current ASAT capabilities. Kinetic ASAT and debris byproduct is a big issue though… |

Next Trump is going to re-named the San Andreas fault to "Biden's Fault". He's been President for nearly two years with a Republican House, a Republican Senate, a heavily Conservative Supreme Court and yet has passed little lasting meaningful legislation (ruling through E.O.s that are either illegal and be thrown out by the Courts or will be thrown out by the next Democrat President.) Nothing "bad" is EVER the fault of Donald J. Trump. He's still blaming imaginary"Sabatours" for his botched Reflection Pool Fiasco. My guess is his reference to the war being over shortly after mid terms....doesn't have anything to do with mid terms. It's a time line for something. Unless he assumes the dems will win and immediately put a stop to the war...which I see so indication of actually. Short of defunding or impeachment, they have no legal recourse. Then we get JD. Who may not share Trumps opinion of the war but he's also not just going to walk away either. |

(it was in 2008, damn near 20 years ago....) Seems we had the ASM-135 ASAT which needed to be launched by an F-15 to get the altitude and boost out of icky low orbit. Then they wanted something to take down incoming ballistic missiles and THAAD and Patriot were the results of those, and they went the ARF way and "Got Both". However, Patriot sucked at the beginning and is proving inadequate against hypersonically maneuvering missiles, which is something I'd thought they'd have covered by now, since they had anti-missile missiles for aircraft, the algorithms should transfer to patriot batteries but I guess not judging by the amount they're hitting with obvious assistance from China, likely Iran only being the launch point with China bringing missile and intelligence for targeting and programming/launching missiles. THAAD needed low altitude satellites, like spy sats and was just at the edge of what it could reach depending on satellite orbit and location of THAAD launcher. That left our Navy exposed so they upgraded Standard Missile ("Does it All" Missile) to have ASAT capabilities with the SM-3 latest version around 2013? Then the Air Force has been apparently continually running their miniature space shuttle with stealth features of which we know there are two, and there have been several classified launches, several of which were large enough to add more or cycle them more frequently to refill on maneuvering fuel to intercept satellites that bother our systems or something. I would wager that would be what "mysteriously caused a breakup" since one of those mini unmanned orbital vehicles with a little arm could go and wrench solar panels off a satellite and then pull themselves to a different orbit while throwing the satellite they don't want into a retrograde orbit that will then burn into the atmosphere in a month or two, with zero evidence of this happening, since these X-?? are very stealthy and orbital numbers for them by hobbyists are extremely spotty and even if one is up or not isn't known so them doing something could easily happen unknown. Meanwhile, THAAD or SM-3 or other weapon would be blatantly obvious who did it due to the smoke trail pointing directly at the guilty party. There's also the fact that there have been 20 years of advancements in hardware processing (hypersonic maneuvering in realtime with picosecond sensor responses), while US didn't upgrade and can't do that math so fast. Over most of those 20 years, the military was under funded except when Trump's first term (despite being dragged to be crippled by everybody on both sides of aisle) managed to fund the military at a much higher level than Obama or Biden after and so great leaps that other nations have made might not have been made by the US, though we likely have the blueprints and code thanks to Israel's spies or other sources in addition to us not being idiots ourselves and making laser defense systems for mosquitos out of boredom. Systems with so much processing power and resolution they can match the signature of a Mosquito's wing vs other insect, then fire and kill mosquito in under a millisecond. Those systems are similar to what batteries capable of stopping hypersonic maneuvering missiles need, faster interceptors with more maneuverability, going into "it's a UFO" territory now. |
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
Saudi Arabia's key East-West Pipeline could remain mostly offline for three to five weeks after Friday's drone strikes, AP reports. It may run at reduced capacity, though officials could not say how much oil would flow. Up to 4% of global supply is at risk. Buyers and traders say the kingdom could run out of exportable stocks unless the damaged pumping station restarts within days. Satellite photos released Sunday show it charred and badly damaged.
EXCLUSIVE: Based on our satellite imagery analysis conducted on 2026-09-14, we can see that the Strait of Hormuz now hosts bi-directional daytime traffic of VLCC supertankers. Furthermore, greater volumes of crude oil, LNG and LPG are being exchanged via STS transfer in the Gulf of Oman.
CLAIM: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims a Panama-flagged oil tanker recently struck a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz. This is FALSE. FACT: The Panama-flagged oil tanker El Gaia was struck by an Iranian missile last month and rendered inoperable. This weekend, Iran struck the tanker again with a drone while the ship sat in waters of the coast of Oman. The tanker is currently being towed by a regional partner. The IRGC's false claim is yet another example of their lies and intimidation attempts while they try to impede commercial vessels in the strait.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree: Saudi Arabia carried out 54 airstrikes across Yemen in the past 24 hours, flown by Typhoon and F-15 aircraft operating out of the Khamis Mushait and Taif bases. In a separate message, Saree claimed the Houthis launched surface-to-air missiles at Saudi warplanes over Saada province in northern Yemen, the group's stronghold, forcing them to turn back. Saree warned the "aggression will not pass quietly." |

Full Reuters article Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis launched a new wave of attacks on Saudi Arabia and were digging into positions on the western coast of Yemen along the Red Sea, Yemeni officials said, as urgent deliberations took place in Riyadh over how to respond to their lightning advance. Meanwhile, Gulf Arab states postponed planned talks with Iran, raising concerns the Middle East conflict could spread further and threaten global oil supplies. The Houthis on Monday said they fired dozens of missiles and drones at a military airbase in Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia, targeting aircraft hangars, radar systems, runways and ammunition depots in retaliation for Saudi airstrikes in Yemen. Saudi authorities issued emergency alerts there and in three other southern cities. Thirteen civilians were wounded in the Houthi attacks, the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said. The Houthi advances in recent days, including the taking of Perim Island at the mouth of the Red Sea, have put further pressure on Saudi oil exports after an aerial attack on Thursday knocked Saudi Arabia's east-west pipeline offline. Riyadh blamed the pipeline attack on Iranian-backed militias in Iraq. Saudi Arabia built the 1,200-kilometer (745-mile) pipeline across its territory from the Gulf to the Red Sea in the 1980s to bypass the Strait of Hormuz when it came under threat from the Iran-Iraq war at that time. Traders said a prolonged shutdown of the Saudi pipeline could cut off as much as 4% of global oil supply while the strait is largely blockaded. Riyadh has not said when operations might resume. Responding to the Houthi offensive, the Saudi and Yemeni air forces have stepped up aerial bombardment of Houthi targets, including around the historic Red Sea port of Mocha, but the Houthis have maintained effective control over almost the entire western coast of the country along the Red Sea, the officials with Yemen's internationally recognised government said. “The Houthis are being put under heavy pressure. They in turn are putting more and more pressure on the Saudis, increasing their campaign of missile and drone attacks,” one of the Yemeni officials said. Crude oil prices rose more than 4% on Monday before settling about 1% higher. AMERICANS HESITANT TO STEP IN The renewed Yemen conflict poses another challenge for U.S. President Donald Trump. Three sources have told Reuters that Washington has so far resisted Saudi requests for direct military intervention beyond intelligence support. Trump said over the weekend he had spoken with the Saudi crown prince and that the Houthis had also contacted Washington urging it to stay out of the conflict. Saudi state media reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met U.S. regional commander Admiral Brad Cooper in Jeddah on Monday. Saudi Arabia has led a coalition battling the Houthis since 2015, but the conflict had largely quietened under a ceasefire in recent years. Fighting reignited this month, with the Houthis pushing back forces aligned with the internationally recognised government. HOPES FOR DIPLOMACY FADE Oman had been due to host a meeting on Monday with Iran and Gulf states to discuss negotiations aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which before the war carried 20% of the world's oil exports. But Oman announced that the meeting had been postponed. Iran said the postponement was at the request of Saudi Arabia. Trump on Monday repeated his frequent claim that Iran was eager to make a deal quickly, but Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, called the president's message a distraction, saying on X, "No talks until Iran's conditions are met." Underscoring the volatility of shipping through the region, conflicting reports circulated about how and when an oil tanker was damaged. Without giving a date, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said the Panamanian-flagged oil tanker El Gaia was hit by sea mines as it passed through a prohibited zone south of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Fars news agency reported on Monday. But the U.S. military's Central Command immediately said the report was false and the tanker was "struck by an Iranian missile last month and rendered inoperable." The United Nations' International Maritime Organization reported El Gaia was damaged on Saturday, but did not say how, and that two seafarers were missing. Reuters could not immediately contact the ship's owners in Dubai to verify any of the accounts. The world's most important oil shipping lane has been mostly shut down since the war began on February 28 as Iran has threatened vessels that transit the waterway without its authority. "The IRGC Navy firmly declares that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and still under our smart control," the Revolutionary Guards said in the statement.
The U.S. and Saudi Arabia plan to expand the southern shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz to counter the closure of the Bab al-Mandab Strait by the Houthis. According to Israel Hayom, citing regional diplomatic sources, the move was one of the agreements reached in a meeting between CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Channel 14’s Tamir Morag reports Israeli officials now consider the Lebanese army’s effort to disarm Hezbollah a failure. A senior Israeli source said the Lebanon army is likely coordinating with Hezbollah from its commander down to troops in the field. Talks with Lebanon have been postponed until October, with Jerusalem concluding only the IDF can dismantle Hezbollah. |

Patriot was not originally designed to intercept ballistic missiles. The Army tried to add that capability via software upgrades in the 1980s. The resulting performance in Desert Storm was IMO a respectable first effort, though forever tarnished by official lies. Two entirely new missiles (PAC-3 and PAC-3 MSE) have since been added to the system which are specifically designed as ABMs. |

Kinetic ASAT and debris byproduct is a big issue though… There's been speculation that the little unmanned spece plane has the capability to snatch satellites and bring them back. Maybe they can also give them a little bump? |

We left plenty in the prisons of SE Asia. I hate it when they use hat bullshit line. |

Or maybe nukes in the air going at each other at the same time. Iran fully intends to use their nuclear weapons offensively as soon as they accomplish building one. Iran, as a nation, has repeatedly demonstrated they are not rational actors, so the traditional rules of diplomacy or even logic, do not apply when dealing with Iran. Iran’s invasion of our embassy (and yes - invasion is the correct word here), in 1979 are all the proof one requires. Note that the same government which carried out that invasion remains in power. And Israel is the least issue of concern here. Like it or not, the world economy turns on energy, and the Gulf is still largely at the epicenter of energy. Iran’s development of nukes threatens not only Israel, but every Arab country in the region (note that Iranians are not Arabs). Any sane person plainly sees why Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. |

However both are way too emotionally invested (for obvious reasons) and overly optimistic. I maintain the position that most Iranians don’t actually care about the regime being in power. |

Maybe they can also give them a little bump? That is my guess, but I don't think the bump was intentional unless it didn't fit into the kidnapping bay. That, or the operator wasn't used to the lag and swatted the Chinese satellite into confetti. With weight at a premium, they're built about was solid as the since class "Egg drop" competitions. Maybe they've beefed up the structure a bit due to amount of micro-metreor sized junk from self destructs, but still closer to paper airplane than car. |
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
