Air Force pauses Sig P320. This has been documented numerous times. How many oopsies does Sig get? Should have went with the M&P. https://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-airman-death-m18-safety-concerns-2025-7 |

Quoted: Would have been a much better choice than the Sig. Quoted: Quoted: As much as i hate the vertec grip, should have went with the m9a3. Would have been a much better choice than the Sig. Agreed. But, if the A3 was chosen, this board and the gun community would be posting bullshit that Beretta paid off the government and that there are much better pistols out there like the SIG 320, Glock, etc.. |
| I hope so. It's been proven to be unsafe too many times for there to be any doubt. Sig needs to own up to their mistakes and pull them off the market, and probably should offer to buy them back. It would at least be good PR for them to do that, as it is it looks like they just flat don't care about safety. |

Quoted: S&W M&P has this. It’s an American company and a great gun. I don’t see why they snub this gun? Quoted: Quoted: It will need a manual safety. S&W M&P has this. It’s an American company and a great gun. I don’t see why they snub this gun? Can't disagree. My understanding is s&w was viewed as a likely winner by outside experts and then it wasn't even selected as a finalist. Weird. Then again either the Beretta or the Glock that were eval finalists would have been better picks. |

Glock, or the Smith & Wesson should have been the pick. Both can come with a (retarded) manual safety. Proven track record in LE and Mil. The idiotic modularity crazy is stupid. Who the fuck in the military will be constantly changing out grips? "OK, all you medics, switch out your pistol grips to sub-compact. You are all going to CID now in civvies"...? WTF Even in LE, when one can transfer to CID from Patrol, and back again, you can be issued a compact gun. Dealing with multiple grip panels and grips for the same gun is retarded. Notice how the LE trade-in guns rarely come with the extra grips? No one fucks around with changing grips back and forth. |

Should have went with the M&P. https://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-airman-death-m18-safety-concerns-2025-7 S&W M&P would have been an excellent choice (I have two). SIG will be forced to fix the issue or another company will do it. Too many 320-type handguns in military logistics now. They can’t dump a defective handgun like a police department could/is. And now even departments can’t dump them because even every hard-headed SIG fan knows there is an issue now. Plus, PDs don’t want any liability in selling 320s. I also have a 320 which is an excellent shooter BUT it’s defective and will sit in a box and wait for improved parts ) as I can’t get $100 for it now anyway and don’t want to pass a dangerous gun to anyone else. SIG screwed up by trying to sweep this under the rug - the BOD at SIG may have to fire Cohen for this otherwise the next couple of years will be even more painful. |

Is this an expanded pause by the Air Force or the same one already described in the primary P320 thread? https://www.ar15.com/forums/General/SIG-The-P320-It-ends-today-/5-2782910/?page=93 |

Right now some smart people have bought some LE trade-in 320, hired a lawyer, and jumping around the house with it on video waiting for the AD. It WILL happen sooner or later and that "lucky" 320 owner will be rich. |

Should have went M&P or the Glock. Best pick though would have been the M&P with it being American made Attached File |

If this isnt the end, which it should be, it will be when their 22x series start failing due to shit made in india parts Attached File damn shame, however you feel about the 320, the 226, 229 and family are amazing guns with decades of proud service and reliability |

Quoted: Military should have just picked glock. It's the best option. Proven reliable, proven safe. Already used by the military. Cheap. Glock “shot themselves in the foot” for obtaining many military tenders by refusing for decades to offer a manual safety. Glock did produce the “Tasmanian” model for a trial but never offered it afterwards. |

The 320 issue isn’t a parts manufacturing quality issue, it’s a design issue. |

They lost contracts, FBI/ATF black listed them. I think they even got fined. FRC is the worst human being in the big gun industry. I mean, there are a smattering of losers in the smaller companies, but at large, FRC is a piece of shit. He’s a convicted criminal in Germany, why Kimber or SIG would hire him is beyond me. Or retain him , for that matter. |

Quoted: I don’t understand why this is even a factor. Cost shouldn’t matter. We send billions to other countries monthly, what’s a million here or there for a good safe weapon system for OUR troops??? Quoted: Quoted: Glocks problem was greed. I don’t understand why this is even a factor. Cost shouldn’t matter. We send billions to other countries monthly, what’s a million here or there for a good safe weapon system for OUR troops??? I don’t think it was greed. I think Glock actually presented an appropriate price for their guns. From what I’ve read, sig’s offering came out to $180 to $200 per pistol. There is no way they can make a profit on that price. I believe they purposely undercut the competition just to get the contract, even at a loss. |

Quoted: Who is “most?” Colt is owned by the Czechs. FN is owned by the Belgies. etc, etc. Most Americans. S&W is an American owned company. Why wouldn’t the US military use a sidearm from an American owned company? The M&P is a better gun than Glock anyway, especially for use with multiple hand sizes. The Glock points unnaturally for most new users. |

Quoted: Glock has models with manual safeties. Wish they would offer them to the general public so I could do a PDW build on one. Quoted: Quoted: It will need a manual safety.
