From a numbers point of view,

Is Israel (IDF) fully engaged, 50%, or is this just a couple of divisions?

Just curious what they have in reserves?

Is Israel toying with it's prey?

Not even close to being fully engaged. They have like 400K plus in reserves.

For a country of only a few million, that's a LOT!

That's counting everything I think...

They have mandatory service plus reserve, plus inactive reserve.   I think every male israeli is technically in the "reserves" all the way up until age 65.   The female reserve age is different.

What do you think is Israel's next steps.

Conquer, as they should.  It is the only way.  Conquer Palistine, Conquer Lebanon, Conquer Syria.  The only way to end the violence is how we did it in WWII, conquer and demand total surrender.  Then, and only then, show them how to form a new nation.  De-mil them for a period of time, but offer protection.

Who knows, maybe some day there will be real peace in the middle east.

The problem with doing that is I don't believe they have enough forces to occupy those territories. I may be wrong, but it seems like that would be an over-extension of their forces and would lead to open insurgencies or attacks from other nations along their weakened perimeter.

They will soon be pulled off by the administration and nothing, for the umpteenth time, will be settled.

Regardless of what Rush has to say, they are not fighting in a way that enables them to win.

I seriously think that the IDF is holding back big time.

This is strangely one of the few times I WISH Israel would tell the US to go F*** itself and go full forward into this war. It apparently isn't enough that we have to fight our wars with the gloves on, but now we want the Israelis to do it also

The IDF has been having readiness issues over the past few years, so while they are not 'fully engaged' (not that they would want to be, as that would cripple the Israeli economy), they are not reacting with sufficient speed.

Add to that Olmert and a Center-Left coalition gov't that isn't as knowledgable about military matters as would be a Sharon or Netanyahu gov't, and you aren't really seeing the most impressive callup in Israeli history.

Probably just until tourists and visitors leave..............then they are liable to destroy Lebanon and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards helping Hezbollah

I actually had thought that was what they were doing before, when the US was transporting US civilians out of the area, but it seems like they really are holding back due to international pressure

This could have been the last and final whooping if they went all out.  But then again, we could have said that in GW1.
