looking forward to The Hunger Games? I wish I could be more excited. But after how ecstatic I was that Avatar: The Last Airbender was going to be made into a movie, just to be completely f*cked up by Shamallama Dingdong; well, I am waiting for it to be screwed up as well.
My oldest is excited, he read the entire trilogy. I hope he's not disappointed too much. |

Looks interesting... the story line looks like a book I've read? Can someone throw me a bone? Definite "David Vs Goliath" feel... |

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay are the titles to the trilogy written by Suzanne Collins.
Here is a synopsis for the first book- Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place. My oldest read the entire trilogy after I raved about it. It sucked me in and I had them read within days. I was completely horrified by the idea of a televised death match as part of the surrender terms. He and I had some "deep" discussions, about the trilogy and the politics within, considering that he is only 11 years old. |
