I believe that can be repaired.  The parts and how-to guides are available.    But it's a job best suited for someone with

a technical background in modern miniaturized electronics.

YouTube + Ebay.  Buy a new scren w/ digitizer that comes with the tools.  Youre going to need a heat gun too.

I broke the glass on the back of mine (screen side is OK).

I "fixed" it with a piece of clear mylar packing tape.

I've replaced the glass on an iPod Touch. It's a pain in the ass, but do-able.

So.... who is the best source for parts? My 16 gb 3GS needs a new mainboard.   ...otherwise I may know where to find a Ghost Armored digitzer, case and battery
