Why does so many people on this forum have sympathy for a nation that double crossed us by selling arms to China?
As soon as you say something negative about Israel, you are branded a anti-semite, can't people dislike a nation by judging their actions? Just asking some questions from observations. I really don't know much about U.S. relations with Israel, just some tidbits I read from news articles. If I am misinformed, please let me know. |

In case you haven't been keeping up, ex-Pres BJ Clinton managed to remove his meat popsicle from ex-intern ms ML's mouth long enough to sell China a whole bunch of classified US technology that he ordered declassified, including missle guidence systems and gps. Ummm....who should we be more pissed at?

They're a decent ally, in terms of the Liberty - shit happens in war. In terms of selling weapons, probably all of our allies do shit we don't like. But the worship around here comes down to a mixture of religious kookery and the fantasy that Israel is some super hard core military machine (complete with Mossad ninjas wielding wooden tennis rackets and magic missiles and all kinds of kooky shit). |

Let's see: Recent join date - Check. Low post count - Check. Subject sure to stir up a hornets nest - Check. OK, I have a beer, now I need some popcorn. ![]() I don't really consider my join date recent, and I tend to observe more then I post. I know the subject will stir the nest, I am just trying to figure out why. |

I don't know you but from my experience I've found that most "Israel haters" tend to eventually out themselves as anti-semites screaming about "international bankers" (code for Jews) and the "aipac lobby" (more code for sneaky Jews). And soon enough they make the full leap to jumping into the Islamist camp. Defending Islamists every chance they get, but as usual trying to couch it in a reasonable language. "Oh they don't hate us for being Infidels, they hate our occupation of their lands!" "but but but what about the 1953 coup in Iran? Where the shah of Iran made him self even more uh, "shahier"? this is blowback! we deserved 9-11" Any evidence such as the Muhammud cartoon riots or the assassination of people critical of Islam or the Hamas charter which calls for exterminating Jews that shows that Islamists have every intention of conquering the world is ignored by them as well. |
http://www.therefinersfire.org/recent_prophecy.htm For one thing in Genesis 12:1-3 God said he will bless those that bless them and curse those that curse them. So many things the Bible said about that small little country have come true it is crazy. From them have been run out of thier land, and gathered back from all the nations, turning the desert into pools of water, to being a constient source of conflict. It also says in the later days Russia, Iran , Libya will attack them and lose very bad. Ezekiel 38-39 |

I don't really know about jewish bankers or any of that mess. Like I said, I am rather ignorant to the subject. I am just wondering why people feel the way they do about Israel. From what I have read, which is not alot, it seems they have done some rather unethical things to the America. |

Not sure how complaining about AIPAC (literally a group of lobbyists with Israel's best interests at heart using their power to influence _US_ policy) makes one an anti-semite, but some people think everyone is so afraid of being tainted with that appellation that all they have to do is raise its ugly specter and the person with the differing opinion will stop talking. It's a scoundrel's approach, one the Democratic party is very good at for example. I love your "They hate these cans!".. I mean "They hate our freedom!" theory too. It's what all the smartest people believe. I wish there was a cool term for people who hate Arabs based on their religion or ethnicity. Oh wait - there is: anti-semite. |

Any questions? Edit: Hell it looks like Lebanon is only working with T-72's and M-60s . I think the Issys are light years ahead of their competitors in that particular area in hardware and training. Yeah, amazing what US armaments and money will do, huh? |

If you can explain the difference between someone's "religion" and "just some kooky, ridiculous bullshit opinion they have" I think you might be able to win a Nobel prize. |
| I'll just say this: I have a lot of respect for just about any country that is surrounded by enemies and has managed to fend off every attack they've had thrown their way. Israel is a tough country, and whether you agree or disagree with them politically or religiously, you have to admit that they're good fighters. |

The USS Liberty incident tells me all I need to know about our so-called friends. Israel is no friend of the US, and we still give them billions of dollars a year. Now you did it. What about the King David Hotel? Hey, they're not saints, but between the Jews and the Muslims who have killed more white Europeans? No contest...Muslims. Between Jews and Muslims who have killed more Americans? No contest, Muslims. Enemy of my enemy is my friend. |

I'm not even going to waste my time trying to educate you on this subject. You obviously have a lot of reading to do on US-Israel relations. A little knowledge goes a long way. You can't formulate informed opinions about a subject that you know nothing about. Reading tid bits of news articles here and there isn't going to get it done. Largely the news isn't a trustworthy and reliable source of information to begin with. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread..should be very interesting to see what develops.
