First handgun i ever bought, before i really edjumacated myself on firearms. Well I've held on to it over the years cause it doesn't jam and always goes bang, put well over 1000 bulk .45 ammo through it. Even though i have two Glocks now i keep this one in my vehicle so if its stolen then its not such a big deal. Post your Taurus, good or bad i know they are out there.

Also, no i wouldn't buy another or recommend them, but thats mostly because you guys have made me a gear snob. JK and YMMV.

Taurus ain't that bad.

They get a bad rap but they ain't that bad..

I sure as hell wouldn't want one pointed at me.

The worst firearms I ever owned were made by Taurus.  They are way long gone for me.  Having said that, the PT 92 I owned was a very decent pistol that never jammed on me, but I had to have a Beretta.  The PT 92 was very crude compared to my 92FS.

No pictures, but I own a PT111G2, and love it. I have had it for about six months now, and put around 1000 rounds through it with no drama or trouble of any kind. It shoots well, handles well, and is reliable.

There you have it, and when it comes to pistols I am a bit of a snob, I own a couple of commie milsurps, but mostly Smith and Wesson revolvers and Beretta and Glock autos, and even a couple of Colt 1911's including a Gold Cup in 38 super.

Only experience with one,  friends out shooting.  When we were done we watched a movie and cleaned guns.  Buddy hands me his gun asking what he should do about what looks like a crack.  Yup, cracked frame,  I told him to ship it back to Taurus.  First impressions can be a bitch.

My PT99 (Beretta 92 clone with adjustable sights) ran flawless, it felt very well put together, and more accurate than anything Ive owned since. I never had a hiccup out of any ammo. I wish it had it back. Taurus kept the safety in the right spot, too.

I had the same one just in 9mm and it has been flawless. Accurate as hell to.

Yeah mine is very accurate as well, if i ever need it the bad guy is gonna get 12 .45s very accurately and very fast.

I have a Taurus 605, .357mag snub nose, that I carried for five years. It is accurate and has never let me down at the range.

A Glock 26 is my daily carry gun now however.

I bought a 709 slim a few months back.  Only ran about 200 rounds through it so far.  No problems yet.  It was only $200 nib.  Plus G&A gave it a favorable review in thier 9mm shoot out.  Sorry no pics.

I would take one of their Beretta clones or a Raging Bull if one was given to me. Maybe... MAYBE I'll buy a Raging Bull with my own money someday. But that day is a long way off.

I've had 5 or 6.  I'm almost embarrased to say that, it's like I have to be beaten over and over again before I learned my lesson.  Of all of them, only the PT92 was any good, and that's because Taurus didn't design it, didn't design or build the machines it was made on and didn't source the materials it was made with.

I learned my lesson with KelTec after only 4 of their pieces of shit.  So I am getting better.

I have two. One works, just barely (revolver with bad cylinder stop). The other works somewhat well, but one grip panel broke and accuracy is pretty poor.

I do wish I never bought them. I will never make that mistake again.

I have 3. Model 92af from when a college roommate couldn't come up with $200 for the rent 1 month. My first pistol. I have purposely tried to jam it loading g a mixed magazine of heavy, light and +p loads, no luck, went bang every time. A model 85 5 shot .38 thAt has a very smooth trigger and nice lock up, guessing made in the 1980's from when I bought it.  Finally a 945, single stack stainless .45. Feeds anything I put in it, just like the model 92 and field strips just the same. Only complaint I have is the .45 was new enough to have the stupid hex key lock on the back of the frame. I never use it.  I prefer the frame safety over the slide mounted safety on the beretta. I'm under no illusion these are status guns, but they are working guns that perform their jobs very well.

I have a 1911 from them.

The billboard on the side is obnoxious, but I haven't had any issues with it and have owned it since about 08 or so.  Easily 5k rounds through it.

I bought it because I wanted a cheap 1911 to decide if I wanted a nice 1911.  I've moved on and bought some nice 1911's, but have still been shooting it regularly.

The first handgun I bought myself was a Taurus PT 99 AF with a satin finish.  Wish I had kept it for sentimental reason like you did.

Ditto.  I also hear good things about their 92 clone.  That said, those are the only models I'd buy.

The only Taurus I've ever owned was a 738.  It had less than 500 rounds through it when the left rail for the slide got a Crack that ran half way down the rail.

I sent it in, they sent me a new one, I sold it.

I personally can't stand Taurus but more power to you. I found a Ruger for $200 that's indestructible and pretty accurate just not the prettiest thing in the world. It's the only thing that survived when the boat sank.

The PT945 was too good a deal to pass up.  It shoots well, but doesn't go out often.  The PT22 makes a good/cheap practice gun for my P11, or at least it did when 22 was cheap and available.  The Judge just makes people grin when they shoot it.

My first gun was a Taurus 24/7 9mm.  Never jammed, but it did have all kinds of Failure to Fire problems after a few thousand rounds.

Sold it and got the CZ I should have bought in the first place.

I shot my friends 24/7 pro in .45 and kind of like it.  The trigger had a very long take up, but a short crisp break, and a very quick reset...I found myself not hating it...then found I actually kind if liked it.

I wouldn't mind having one as a beater to keep in the truck.

My first pistol was a Taurus 24/7 OSS in 45. I had the opposite experience of OP complete piece of shit gun, I sent it out to Taurus every time I took it to the range after they sent it back. After 3 times I said fuck it and pawned it.

The one and only Taurus pistol I own is a model 66, 6" Stainless, .357 mag.
I bought it around 2005-06 or so, I have at least 1500 rounds down the pipe with no issues.

got a TCP .380 pocket pistol from buds last spring.
had great reviews.
I have put through quite a few rounds with zero malfunctions. even with some shady looking off brand russian ammo.
great trigger, much more accurate then I expected a .380 with a 1 inch bbl to be.
good enough for head shots at 20 yards.
