Itunes can officailly eat me.. I am so incredibly frustrated with F'in Itunes. I have had to do 3 system rollbacks becuase every time I install Itunes it someone automatically deletes my audio device and installs some bullshit "High Definition Audio Bus" on my computer and it removes ALL audio. let alone the last time I tried to sync my Iphone, Itunes somehow crashed and completely wiped out all of my Apps, ringtones, music, videos and everything else I had ever put on it (except my contacts, luckily it kept them). I have completely removed Itunes and everything associating with Itunes off my computer, shut down, reinstalled Itunes and not only does it remove my audio and replace it with that "Audio Bus" but it gives me some chickenshit bullshit "error 50" and wont let me sync anymore. THEN, apparently my entire Itunes library decided to delete itself, so even if I could sync my phone, it wouldnt have any info to instal in the phone. I did some internet searches and from what I understand, (a LOT of people have had problems with this same sort of thing) none of these problems happened to people until they installed the latest version of Itunes (Itunes 9) I called the Itunes support line and they said they couldnt help me unless I paid 29.99 for this single incident for tech support to help me, or 69.99 for a 2 year tech support contract. I just barely got done with the 3rd system rollback to about 4 days ago, before this problem started, and I finally have sound again, but Itunes still says "quicktime was not found, uninstall Itunes, then install Itunes again". but I know as soon as I do that, its just going to remove my audio again. so I'm pretty much stuck with a useless Iphone unless I pay the 29.99 or 69.99 for tech support (even though I have only had my phone about 6 months). I'm so pissed at Itunes, I could bitch slap the person at Itunes who hasnt fixed this problem. The way I see it, since it has only been happeneing to people with this newest version of Itunes, its an Itunes problem, but they wont fix it becuase they want you to buy that tech support package. any suggestions on other options to get this shit fixed other than pay apple more money? thanks guys

Gee aka the Itunes hater

This is why God invented external hard drives...

Back that stuff up, so next time it's just an inconvenience.

Never had any problems with it.  Used it for years with several different computers.
Maybe this is a case of PEBCAK?
Or maybe you're just unlucky.

I'm pretty sure its not a PEBKAC becuase it was working fine until I downloaded that newest version of Itunes.

Yeah it sucks and every "update" is a new opportunity for it to fuck something up.

Sorry you bought into the cult before realizing this.

Enjoy!

itunes sucks balls.  IT is garbage.  I had to delete everything and go back to an earlier version.  I went back to 8, and it worked... sort of.  Its infuriating that Apple won't fix known issues.  Its like once you leave the walled garden, they lose all ability to fix problems.

There's your problem.

I stopped downloading the 80-120 megabytes a month of upkeep that Apples needs and haven't looked back.

How did you get it to go back to 8?? I've tried that and everytime I launch it it says "Itunes has been replaced by a newer version" or some bullshit and it wont let me even launch the program.

Delete it and install a new copy.  You can get it from http://www.oldapps.com/

That may be true, but Apple isn't too keen on testing it out on all the hardware combinations available to Windows users and there are a lot of conflicts.

Kid Rock (or his label, I'm not sure which) is one of the last holdouts on not allowing people to purchase his music online.

Just buy the CDs used at a pawn shop and rip the MP3s from them.

iTunes has it's limits.

I hate the fact that I can't go back and forth, I can only put on my iTouch or delete from it. I want to be able to place from my device onto my computer.

The whole iPod/iPhone/iTouch/iJoke thing is very limited and highly overated, IMHO. The limitations on iTunes, etc...I got my 8 gig iTouch for free from a vendor who gave a bunch of them to my wife for gifts at a gold outing....I would never spend the money on one.

Same here. I got a used mini real cheap that I use for work. I have to admit, the mini is one tough mp3 player, but ITunes sucks donkey balls.

My iTouch was a gift from my gf, she won it at work.  I have some music on it, but don't even use it for music that much really.  When in the car its a bitch browse through music on the touch screen when your driving, makes for some really unsafe and distracted driving.  For music I actually prefer some cheapie $20 thumb drive mp3 player that you can just click and drag everything to and from.  Even better than the iTouch, it lets me listen to the radio and even record the radio if I so wanted to.

The only thing the iTouch is used for is web browsing in places that offer free wifi and occasionally watching youtube videos in bed.  Thats it.  I'd never buy one and would have sold it seeing that it only gets used once a month or so, but the gf would be pissed if I did.  So it just sits in the junk drawer for weeks at a time...
