I don’t know much about Vance yet, but gut feel is that he is the better of the two.

I was trying to picture the stage for republican debates where all the candidates rock. What the heck are they going to do, give each other high fives the whole time?
I mean really what negative could really be said about JD Vance (I know his career is young), DeSantis or Vivek? |

If Trump had gotten taken down during the lawfare phase, would you guys really have preferred Nikki Haley to be the Republican nominee? I've been wondering what would have happened if Trump had been killed in Pennsylvania -- since he hadn't yet formally announced that Vance was his running mate, AND since the RNC still hadn't been held, would the Republicans have had to run Vance anyway, or would they have thrown open the convention contest to anyone who showed up, or would the possible choices have been ONLY those who had run in the primary, or what? |

There isn't a Republican on deck that can match the broad appeal and intellect of JD Vance. If he had skeletons, they would have been exposed a long time ago. He is young, he is energetic, he is politically savvy, he is intellectually brilliant. He comes from an everyman background. Joe Rogan showed that he is relatable. He handles the Press better than any politician I have ever seen, save Ronald Reagan. It is comical to watch "journalists" try to match wits with him. It took exactly one legacy media interview for them to realize that they are hopelessly outmatched. He has traditional family values, a genuinely loving marriage. He adores his wife, and she adores him. Show me another high profile politician with that kind of marriage. He is everything good that the media made JFK out to be, except he is genuinely that. If I could make one suggestion to JD Vance, it would be to get with Rogan and Dana White and hit the weight pile. He's soft.

I am 100% positive Trump will have monumental fuck ups. No doubt in my mind.
I think most people just want to get off this track we're currently on, and he will probably disrupt that. I don't expect he's going to do anything meaningful at the Federal level other than judicial appointments. But he most likely will slightly slow the gigantic government down a little bit. I think that's all we can really expect at this point. I don't think he's going to fire 80% of the government employees, I think he'll swing with popular opinions during tragedy at the expense of our rights, I think he'll make some good EOs that will immediately get reversed, etc. He's a breather. I think the nation needed a breather. And he has great comedic timing, so I'll take jokes over being yelled at for being a nazi. |

We'll have to see how he does as VP but if MAGA does well, I think you're right. I think we could easily see a Vance and Tulsi/Vivek ticket which I would be excited for. I think DeSantis leads a "different faction" of the right which isn't a bad thing.
That said, can we take a minute to appreciate the potential lineup of future leaders the right has: DeSantis Vance Gabbord Ramaswamy Possibly RFK Jr They are all young too (in political terms) and they all have Presidential potential. |
