[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Jarhead

I see that "Jarhead" is coming out on DVD next Tuesday March 7. Is it worth buying or should I just rent it?? One of the disadvantages of living where I do is the fact that it is at least half an hour to the closet movie theater so I haven't been to a movie since before I moved here almost 8 years ago. Thanks for your input. Rich

Now I'm intrigued...I saw the movie, but didn't read the book. Sickened as in bad book or content?

I havent seen the movie yet but being a Marine from about the same time frame I want to see it But I Know the movie will prob. make me mad since hollywoods involved. The book was an excellent read though.

I read the book and just saw the movie.I was in from 91-95 0351 and I thought it was pretty accurate as far as grunt life goes.

It may be accurate but it sucks ass... Not worth seeing IMO. There was like, no shooting other then in the air or at targets?
