I am having a problem with the clutch in my jeep. When it is in N and I let out of the clutch something starts knocking real bad. For now it seems to drive fine as long as you don't depress the clutch in N. Does anyone know what might be the problem.

Sounds like a worn bearing or sleeve in the tranny, possibly on the main shaft.

I would say the pilot bearing in the back of the crankshaft would be coming apart. no way of knowing anymore without hearing it myself or taking it apart
the throw out bearing may also be the problem .
very hard to say without being there . could also be the trans itself

Thanks. I'll just have to take it apart when I get some time.
