I have an 04 Jeep Liberty Sport with 146,000 miles on it and for about the past 1 1/2 months the "part time" light has been coming on.  The lever for the transfer case is in 2H and the light will come on when I first start up and then it shuts off maybe 5-10 min later.  Is this just a simple short or is it something major?  I am just concerned because in the Fall I will have to take my Jeep in for emissions testing and they may fail it if the light is on.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance,  Sam

Probably just a Jeep thing.They have quirky little things like that.

I KNOW the transfer case is in 2 HI, it'll stay on for 20 min, go out, cut back on.  I have about 147,000 miles on it, haven't used 4X4 that much and when I have never abused it.
