Jeeps are Luke guns....your never through spending money on them. and you can never just have one... your collection will grow. I might add a srt8 grand cherokee to my jeep roster. |

My 2011 JK. It has changed a LOT in the 8ish months I have had it. I have gone on a lot of wheeling trips in this thing and have several planned for the next few months. Gonna be a busy year! Day 1 Chopped bumper New wheels and tires. The rocker damage is from a wheeling trip. Fender chop and painted grill New bumper Rock sliders This is going in next month Me and a buddy, I am on the right |

It was kind of a bet that I had with a friend on whether or not I would do it. He lost. It gets some great reactions, mostly from Jeep people that understand it. |

Well it kinda looks like one just a wee bit more bullet proof. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5064/5866011092_89760ff2d0_b.jpg FakeJeep?
I'd rock the shit out of an FJ40 but I would have to ditch the leaf springs first. I like the olive colored ones better |

Do you have 33x12.5 on there? Any lift or all fender clearance? I really like this new approach. I always thought those 6" plus lifts to fit 35" or 37" tires made jeeps way too high and top heavy. I think the new approach of sticking with the stock suspension and 33" tires (or a small 2" lift and 35" tires) and adjusting the fenders to fit makes more sense (to me anyway) and makes for a better overall jeep IMO. The resulting flat fender look is pretty sweet too!

No FSJs??? I have my fair share of the standard little Jeeps, but the FSJs are real beasts. Once I bought a couple of those I will never go back to the small Jeeps. |

It is a 2" spacer on the springs in the front and 1" in the rear. I plan on getting AEV's new 2.5" spring lift in the near future. To run the 33" tires you really have to do flat fenders without a lift or you would get a lot of rubbing. As my Jeep sits now, they do not rub at all. I agree with you about a small lift and 35" tires. When I get my 2/5" and wear these tires out I will move up to 35" tires. I like having a lower CG and you don't need a ridiculous lift to get through difficult terrain.

Quoted: Quoted: <snip> Fender chop and painted grill <snip> Did you chop the fenders yourself or are they aftermarket? E-95 Did it myself. It took about 2 hours and wasn't all that hard. Taped off, ready to cut. First one cut. If you look closely you can see the edges came out rough but that is where the door trim that you will see later comes in. Door trim added for a finished look. Rear From the front. After that I trimmed and re-installed the wheel well linings. |
