Ugh, every time you people make one of these threads you make me sad. I gave up Jeeps a little over a year ago due to limited funds and living on my own. I WILL have another Cherokee one day, maybe one day soon if you guy keep this up. Anyway, I'll shut up and share my past Heeps!

My first leap into Jeeps and my favorite:
'92 XJ D30/35 4.0L automatic Selec-Trac 4x4 Limited model, removable doors and leather seats...hell yeah.

My second. $300 XJ that I got mostly for parts but had some fun with it too.

Third. Ventured into the world of Wranglers. Got this guy for $1,000 a couple years ago. Bad clutch and bare bones but lots of fun.

My fourth and last back in an XJ. '95 D30/ Chrysler 8.25 rear Command Trac basic model with 235,000 miles and 33x10.5 BFG's thing ran like a champ, no using oil, no smoke no slips even with all the miles and abuse

Our 2012 JK Rubi 2 Door 6 Speed (which is being built)

Absolute wonderful vehicle, just cant say enough about the new 3.6 Pentastar Engine. Total home run by Chrysler, Jeep now has perfect on-road power and abilities without sacrificing anything for the Trail
My wife Drives the Rubi and I drive the 08 when we wheel.

The 85 CJ-7 Project which my son who just returned home from the Military and I are restoring. Absolute blast, it's going to be killer when its done next spring and he is going to have epic fun with it.

Plus the ubiquitous Jeep trailer that we restored

My old XJ. Bought it for $400, put a new transmission and transfer case in it, added the 33s, and sold it to my best friend for $600. It caught on fire a few weeks later and he parted it out.

God I miss that straight-piped piece of crap.

LOL, thanks.  It was kind of a bet that I had with a friend on whether or not I would do it.  He lost.  It gets some great reactions, mostly from Jeep people that understand it.

Here's my XJ that's been keeping me busy for the last year and a half.

Started life as a 2wd, but I converted it to 4wd, most of the options I installed, a budget boost on 31's, factory and Rusty's skids in the most tender of areas.

It needs paint, but soon.

I'd rock the shit out of an FJ40 but I would have to ditch the leaf springs first. I like the olive colored ones better

Do you have 33x12.5 on there? Any lift or all fender clearance?

I really like this new approach. I always thought those 6" plus lifts to fit 35" or 37" tires made jeeps way too high and top heavy. I think the new approach of sticking with the stock suspension and 33" tires (or a small 2" lift and 35" tires) and adjusting the fenders to fit makes more sense (to me anyway) and makes for a better overall jeep IMO. The resulting flat fender look is pretty sweet too!

No FSJs??? I have my fair share of the standard little Jeeps, but the FSJs are real beasts. Once I bought a couple of those I will never go back to the small Jeeps. Sold my 53 M38A1 and my 55 CJ5 because the FSJs are way more fun. Nothing beats a well built 401.

Yeah, I imagine it's easy to not break anything when you run dinky little street tires that won't take you anywhere interesting or difficult.

Yes, they are 33x12.5.  I have a leveling kit that gets rid of the factory rake.  It is a 2" spacer on the springs in the front and 1" in the rear.  I plan on getting AEV's new 2.5" spring lift in the near future.  To run the 33" tires you really have to do flat fenders without a lift or you would get a lot of rubbing.  As my Jeep sits now, they do not rub at all.

I agree with you about a small lift and 35" tires.  When I get my 2/5" and wear these tires out I will move up to 35" tires.  I like having a lower CG and you don't need a ridiculous lift to get through difficult terrain.

Finally going to get off my ass and post a couple pics of my Xj. I have had her about 2 years and have done several things to it.

currently has 11" Fox 2.0 res shocks in the front with RE 4.5" springs and a Iron rock long arm kit, regeared stock D30 with 4:10 gear and 32"s minor welidng and gussets on the axle and more coming. Custom front bumper my Cousin and I made. The rear is OME 3" leaf with longer shackles and an Explorer 8.8" w LSD and disc brakes. I have Ruff stuff frame stiffners on there and I am planning to put some 12-14" fox shocks in the rear ( has 8.5" fox's now.)

Lots of other little things like exhaust, stereo, dual band Ham radio, HID's, chase lights, etc.

Its my do anything rig. Most fun I have had off road!
