holy crap what a landmine of PC/Litigation
been tasked to put one together for my job. looking at some samples available on-line, confirms my belief that the world is over populated with idiots. |
| We started doing JSA's here a few months ago. Between those, the Pre-Job Brief, Post-Job Brief, new LOTO system, ladder inspection forms, Environmental Impact form, and "Hurt Search"... what took one guy about 10min to do, now takes a MINIMUM of 3 guys 6 hours to do. |

JSA's can be a great tool to help laborers think about the risks involved in the daily tasks they do. They can also be a nightmare to try and conform them to each and every task. We try to find the happy balance between the two; my HSE guy has created a single page with sign in sheet on the back that my guys fill out daily. I get them to understand that the JSA is as much a part of the daily work as picking up a torch or a hammer. |

I found this example (close to what I do)...holy shit this is fucking stupid

We have job hazard analysis , research safety summaries, and electrical work permits. I can't power up a printed circuit card without all of them.
We also have a separate work control system for part of the plant. It does jack shit for safety, just a paper trail for lawyers. |
