Over the summer I'll be jogging outside instead of at the gym due to some scheduling conflicts. I'd like to carry my phone, IDs, and my LCP. What do you use to carry the essentials when out for a run?

I use a running belt to carry my cell phone, key and knife on my runs. I have not really figured out how to carry a handgun effectively for runs due to weight and throwing off my form.
I use this belt, it works well, keeps everything in place and its comfortable. http://www.amazon.com/YesBelt-x2605-Stylish-Running-Belt/dp/B00WLCSBYW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464052251&sr=8-1&keywords=yes+belt |

Running is the only time I leave my house unarmed. I don't carry my phone or anything else with me either, so it's not like I have anything worth robbing me for. Plus I'm already dressed for running away. Seriously though all I carry is my house key unless I'm going for a long run in the middle of summer then I carry water in a Osprey 1.5L hydration pack. It does have 6L of storage space plus a phone holder though. Here's the hydration pack I use: |

That's already in a holder that goes around my hand. A little heavy to run with though. Maybe I can get something really tiny or just go without water. -Emt1581 |

I have a fanny pack that fits most of that... and a water bottle clipped on. I really don't know who made it, I just picked it up at a local running store. The LCP is about the biggest gun that would fit in it. A fanny pack eh? Well, I'm not winning and beauty contests so I suppose that'd work just fine. Any in particular to hold the gun? Good thread OP. I think about this from time to time and glad to see it finally getting some discussion.
I recommend running in a LW plate carrier, boots and ballistic helmet. I wouldn't use actual NODs while I run since they are so expensive but you can rig up a water bottle to the NV mount in order to simulate the weight (and strengthen your neck) and also build neck strength you'll need for longtime NV use. Bonus is if you get thirsty you got water right on your body. As far as a carry, LCP is not enough gun. I would go appendix G34 with 17+2s or new Magpul G21 glock pmags. Wrap a sweater around your waist and no one will notice. |

Quoted: Full kit, Magpul pants, hill people gear, and weight belt. Funny you mention that. While training for the BattleRoad biathlon, I did a trail run with my fully loaded war belt to identify any potential problems before the match. The walk through the neighborhood to the trail head got some funny looks. |

For an LCP I'd consider one of those kydex neck holsters under the shirt. https://img1.etsystatic.com/022/0/8369531/il_570xN.486461419_qek9.jpg Quoted:

Any other suggestions on a specific pack that'll hold the LCP secure? I like these. Have carry all calibers up to .45 comfortably.

Belly band for gun + arm band thing for phone and key
ETA: DeSantis to be exact: http://www.desantisholster.com/BELLY-BAND |

Hill People Gear -- Snubby Kit Bag
I use one for early morning (pre-dawn) runs with my keys, ID's, G19, and phone. Works like a champ. Cinch it appropriately and there will be no annoying bouncing, etc. Thank me later. |

Take a look at the PT2 from Pistolwear. I've used it for running and mountain biking and it works as advertised. It carries my Shield, ID and a small flashlight without any bouncing or sliding and no problems with the pistol coming out. It conceals under a shirt really well too.

So would having a fanny back bouncing around on your hips or pretty much any other method of carrying a pistol while running. |

I don't bring a cell phone but I really should. |

Maybe, but a fanny pack would be a lot better restrained than that thing just by the geometry of the straps. I'm interested in the pistolwear holster linked above, seems like a pretty ideal solution to me. |

Generally my running gear consists of; Shorts Shirt Socks Shoes Underwear Hell, when the temp is above 60 I usually leave the shirt at home. My runs are typically 4 to 8 miles and I don't carry water. Having a belly band, camelbak or pistol hanging from a piece of paracord around my neck would rub me raw even with a shirt on. |
No bouncing, and it may reduce your risk of prostate cancer! |

I dig my current set up and it's easy:
Good shorts with a big pockets and draw string. Taurus 738 in a kydex IWB holder on rt side. Samsung S6 Active in left front pocket. Buetooth headphones (broke the headphone jack wire multiple times). Wireless is awesome and solved that. I can run in a light t shirt and gun doesn't print while running. Tried some other methods. This balances well which is the most important part if running some distance. I'm doing 4-7 miles. Did not like running with a gun in the beginning but quickly got used to it. |
