I am sure Marilyn, very talented man whose talents just went in a direction most don't like. I am a big fan of both Cash and Manson. Johnny Cash was the poet laurette for the american people for 50 years, just his poetry was done to music. Interesting tie, Cash's final video was Hurt, written by Trent Rezner who started marilyn manson's career. All three are great song writers. Its just the music that is different. Of the three, I like Cash the best, but I enjoy them all. |

This is the one I always suggest to Cash fans. One of the little known covers from his American Recordings. It's a cover from Bonnie 'Prince' Billy who does the harmony vocals on the track. I See A Darkness |
Gibb bought the house and was planning on living in it. I'd guess that he'd somehow turn it into some sort of disco-inspired faggotry, instead of the shrine it should have been. ETA - looks like you hit "submit" about the same time I hit "reply".

Funny, I just bought his AMericana albums last night: My Favorites (In no pareticulkar order other than the first one): "Hurt": Simply the most powerful song I've ever listened to. You don't listen to this song...you feel it. Simply incredible. Even Reznor says that the song now belongs to Johnny. Folsom Prison Blues Bridge Over Troubled Waters (With Fiona Apple) When the Man Comes Around One (U2 cover) Man in Black I Walk the Line Ring of FIre (Also like the Social Distortion cover of it) Many many more. Have had many occasions where some alkihall has lead to singing many Johnny Cash songs with people from, and all, over the world - Korea, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mexico... all over. Great stuff. |

His version of the OLD blues song "Rock Island Line" is a favorite of mine. Seems whenever I'm at a late night campfire with friends,there's some Johnny Cash playing from someone's truck radio at some point. My 2 year old daughter is the biggest fan. She asks to listen to our Johnny Cash CD all the time.  |
