Anyone else see it? Directly above us here in VA right now. Bright "star" in the evening sky. (at least I think it is Jupiter) -3D |

Not jupiter, probably Venus or Saturn. Use this website to get a good in-view picture for your area. Use # of time zones west or east of Greenwich Mean Time to figure out your location. ETA: From the looks of it, it may even be a conjuction of Saturn & Venus. That would produce a pretty bright object. |

All I could find was this: stardate.org/nightsky/planets/ Seems to suggest Jupiter. -3D |

Jupiter just got above the tree line here....it's certainly the brightest thing in the sky tonight It's in the south east sky, fairly low still. If you can't find it, look sort of westward to find the Big Dipper (everyone knows that, right?) and then turn 180 degrees around and Jupiter is right there. |
Should be more SE like NoVaGator said. Look at it with binoculars to be sure |

Yep thats it. I'm going to be checking Jupiter out this month with a telescope and try to catch one of the moons transiting across it. Btw the object you mentioned in your original post I'm sure was the star Arcturus. You can check later by following the arc the handle of the big dipper makes and it will lead right to it...."Arc to Arctures" |
