I just picked up a Point Blank level IIA vest, mainly because my cousin ordered it from E-Bay, and it turned out to be WAY too small for him.. 50 bucks, so it seemed like a good deal. Anyhow, the carrier looks new, as does the kevlar in the front. The rear insert, however, is comprised of what looks like 15 layers of brownish kevlar, and has a .32ish size hole through about two layers towards what would cover the right side of the lower back. Will this significantly lower the overall protection afforded by the rear piece? Also, does kevlar have a "lifespan" under normal conditions?

To address both responses.. I don't know if E-Bay handles estate sales, but I do know you can get a vest shipped without question through them. Being that I am over 21, and not a felon, from what I've read my ownership is legal.

To the second, NO THANKS. [:P]

the only things I can remember that affect kevlar is moisture and light (UV) exposure.
