Kids forge license plate of someone they don't like and drive past speed cameras:
http://www.thesentinel.com/302730670790449.php This is dangerous and cruel. Imagine what would happen if someone forged the plates of our elected officials and top-level bureaucrats? It could bankrupt the system |

"I have a Constitutional right to face my accuser in court. Wait... what do you mean my accuser is a black box???"
This could be one of the most effective arguments against speed cameras and red light cameras... I hope some lawyer manages to take the ball and run all the way to SCOTUS. |

The shakedown was when the seat of power in Santa Fe shut down the ABQ cameras until they were given their cut of the profits.

They get around that by making the offense a civil infraction not a criminal infraction. Here traffic violations are part of LA Criminal Code. The Lafayette City/Parish Council decided it should be a civil offense so the city and redflex could make money off the offenses. What they essentially did was change state law in our parish (county). Messed up isn't it. But no one seems to want to do anything about the blatant violation of the LA Constitution. I also read a story about some kids somewhere in England that approached one of the traffic vehicles and started talking to the operator. While the operator was preoccupied one of the kids swiped the plates. They left and put the plates on their car and proceeded to rack up 17 (I think that's how many) violations. Now that was ingenious. |

Ask the black box a question; Box does not respond; Ask the Judge to treat the witness as hostile; Ask Box again; Ask the Judge to direct the Box to answer the question; Ask the Box again; When Box does not answer ask the Judge to hold the Box in contempt of Court and serve Jail Time; Yeah right like that is going to go over at all |

What happens if someone else gets ticketed by a camera while driving your car? You rat the driver out to get yourself off the hook, then the court goes after them. I love that prank, could really have some fun with it here in MD. These cameras are nothing more than another revenue generating scam anyway. I can see the judges reaction too, "just pay the fine and GTFO"!! |

What about the 14th Amendment? Equal application of the law. If I get stopped by a cop, it's criminal and I get two points. If I get my picture taken, it's civil, and I just get a fat ass fine. WTF? How is that equal? |

Andrews also said that this could hurt the integrity of the Speed Camera Program. "It will cause potential problems for the Speed Camera Program in terms of the confidence in it," he said.
Integrity? Was there ever any to begin with? Read: "We must fine tune this scam if it is to continue." |

Um...why would they stop you if it wasn't a crime? |

Hilarious. This is being done literally right down the street from me. Those are schools in my county.
I find this line ABSOLUTELTY SHITCAKE FUNNY: The parent said that "our civil rights are exploited,"
Hey! I didn't know it was my right to have the state bend me over and fuck me in the ass! Did you? |

ok.. Does anyone know if the camera's have infrared filters? cause I can pick up plenty of Infrared LEDs and effectively make a license plate ring that is invisible to cops, turns on when i turn on the car, and blinds the camera looking at my plates.
same goes for the face shot, just run a row around the front of your windshield with a blinder blocking your eyes from them... |
