Bought one for Ma. It doesn't appear to have it's own email app. Anyone have any experience with email apps for this thing? Favorites?
Thanks in advance. Edit: The neighbor just said it's suppose to have one already - He works where I bought it and is going to bring me a new one. |

I just set up a gmail account for her yesterday (she's never had email) I'll check out their app. Hopefully it has adjustable font size because Ma doesn't see too good really... gmail app is not already installed? No email app of any kind that I can find. Which is odd since a lot of the tutorials I've read (like in the links in the post above this one) act like the "kindle email app" is already on the phone and it should work with most all email services. But... it's not on this unit. |

I don't think the fire is an official/authorized android device. Might be why there is no pre-installed Google apps. |

Should be somewhere on there. From their site: Stay in touch using our built-in email app that gets your webmail (Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL etc.) into a single inbox. Import your messages and contact lists from other email accounts. Additional email apps are available in our Amazon Appstore for Android. |

Now if i could only figure how to transfer books from the library. The read through says 1 thing in reality it ain't happening. I have to keep it as our daughter gave it to me for christmas. i was perfectly fine reading off the laptop OR a real book. I refuse to pay to read a book

New one has the app. It took me about 3 minutes to set it up with her gmail account. So far, it seems to work good. ETA: He said the icon/app would have appeared by itself after I connected to a WiFi connection and the Kindle updated to the newest version. Now, how long it takes to update and if it's instant or subject to a default time schedule, I don't know. |
