| What manufacturer do you guys like for kitchen appliances? Any experiences, good or bad? I'll be getting an electric oven, side by side fridge, over range microwave and a dishwasher. Not looking for high end stuff (like Viking), just a normal price range. Thanks in advance. |

They are all slipping. I had a Whirlpool microwave and in about 3 years it quit. Some poking around and I found the magnetron was toast. It looked like someone put a grinder to it and ground off a chunk on the tip. I have never seen one do that before. It was about a 45* angle from the flat tip and was just burned away.

As much as arfcom GD hates GE, I installed all GE Profile appliances in my house when I had it built new 18 years ago.
Every single one of these GE Profile appliances are still working fine today without ever a single problem, and they include: Gas Stove/Oven Vented Microwave over the stove Dishwasher Refrigerator Washer Gas dryer But that was GE 18 years ago, I have no idea of how GE quality is today. |
| GE is pretty solid and has faster than average service and decent cust service. Kitchenaid is not bad, but is more difficult to get to scrap out problem products. Bosc is also good, but more limited in refrig options. Frigidaire/ electrolux oem's bosch's cheaper ranges though. |

Never ever buy Kenmore Kenmore doesn't make any appliances - never has. nope, they have other brands put on the Kenmore name, I have a Kenmore microwave that is a Samsung and a piece of junk, it had $2000 in warranty repairs, the control panel just went for the 3rd time... this time it gets thrown out... They now use the lowest bidder |

I've had good luck with samsung. Ditto. So far we have replaced the microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. Stove pending getting someone to stub a gas line so I can convert from an electric stove. Looks great, the microwave makes a perfect bowl of popcorn, the dishwasher is very quiet and I've always wanted a fridge with water in the door. Life is good. The dishwasher could dry a little better, but I suspect it has something to do with all of the energy saving stuff. My old GE would dry with the power of three suns, and the Samsung uses a slower steam drying method that works best if I leave things be overnight. |
