Sort of a musky odor. She's a long hair silky cat, sort of ornery when she doesn't get her way, and I frankly dread trying to bathe her.
Many online sources say that she doesn't need to be bathed. What saith the Hive? |

What saith the Hive? Easiest cat bath ever clean toilet well, put a table spoon of pet soap in toilet. scruff cat toss in toilet flush a few times open toilet and don't be between toilet and door. clean kitty! I remember reading that online somewhere. |

Musky like BO/sweaty clothes kind of funk? You could groom her with a rubber cat-mitt and use some cat grooming oil instead of bathing. http://www.amazon.com/Luca-Pet-detangling-conditioning-nourishing/dp/B00H59B5V2/ref=sr_1_7?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1425851353&sr=1-7&keywords=cat+grooming+spray |

There is a product for cats similar to a big baby wipe, for cleaning their coat. I've not used them though. I do have and use a spray shampoo conditioner made by the Furminator company. Spray the coat and brush or comb the cat until dry, or nearly so. It smells good. |

I will give them a try. Thanks! |

She LOVES being brushed, at least on her back and sides, and I'm acclimating her to brushing her tummy and chin. So I've got that going for me. |

Cats do NOT need to be bathed, they are self-cleaning. They do need regular grooming/brushing, especially long hairs. Could be a lot of things; diet related, dental problems, dingleberries, skin condition, etc. Yes generally cats are self cleaning. An odor could indicate some type of medical problem. |

Wait, are you talking about an actual cat? Lol I thought you mean the other kind, and the op can be read like that if you try lol. I was like why are these guys being helpful, I think it's a goof.
Yeah last time I tried to wash my cat I ended the day with many more holes than I started |
