Yeah, that is puzzling, given that there have been terror attacks on US troops on exercize.

I can only suggest that they might be still within the camp perimeter, and they don't get to lock and load untill they roll out the gate.

Redray- you summed up what I wanted to say perfectly.  I truly wish on a regular basis I had memories as such, ashamed I never carved out a few years in my younger days for my country, and my fellow citizens.  But breathtaking pictures indeed.  In my heart I know those of us home who matter appreciate the sacrifice.  I wish sometimes more people here "acted properly", with respect and honor toward each other enhancing what our young people are protecting.

When we beat the crap out of Saddam Huissen, we should make him surrender his sword to a female general, won't that look bad in a country where women is neither seen nor heard.

I think a female general is the wrong person for saddam to surrender to.

*maybe* a major, but a captain or lieutenant sounds appropriate.  especially if she's of arabic descent.

yeah, I think making him surrender to an arabic-american female junior officer sounds good, since there's probably a rule somewhere saying you have to surrender to an officer.
