I was just watching LAPD Life on the Beat. There was an officer that confiscated a 22lr rifle that had the stock cut off. He said it was illegal. Is this a LA or Cali thing? I will not even get into the LAPD Light infintry training they showed, even though they showed the M16 A1 they got after N Hollyweird. SNS |

FEDERAL LAW, NFA (National Firearms Act) 1938 - If the overall length of a rifle is less than 26", it is a "short-barreled rifle" per FEDERAL LAW. A rifle barrel length less than 16" is a "short-barreled rifle" per FEDERAL LAW, and a shotgun barrel less than 18" is a "short-barreled shotgun" per FEDERAL LAW. HTH You're in the Virgin Islands? |

Thanks big bear, forgot about the overall. I dont think it was less than 26" though. They never charged the guy with possing the "illegal" gun, they did arrest him for a misdeminer warrant. Yes Im in the Virgin Islands (the only place with worse laws than Kaliforication) SNS (formely Rescue35) |
