Hive....
I'm looking for a new, reasonably inexpensive LED flashlight that uses one AA battery. I'd prefer it to be all aluminum, have digital regulation, be as bright as possible, and have a color temp around 5000K. I have a ZebraLight headlamp that I really like, and am considering getting one of their flashlights, but thought I'd check here first before buying one. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. -ZA |

Check out 4 Sevens.
The Quark series meet the requirements you listed. I have had one for years that has been beat up daily at work. It still functions fine and has caused me to buy a few more of their lights. |

Check out the Fenix E11 at $28. I like the push-button tactical switch.

If you really wanna go cheap, try these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006E0QAFY/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The missus is always losing flashlights, so after the last of her three Streamlight PT2Ls vanished, I bought her a dozen of these. They are actually pretty good, especially for the price. The only issue I've noted is that when you adjust it to spot instead of flood, the light pattern is square, which bugs me for some reason, but doesn't affect function. |
| Pretty much everybody makes what you're looking for. I'd say the "safe" price floor is around $20 for a decent AA light. That will get you good overseas quality; you can find plenty of them that cost less but it's a waste of money IMO. Anything from Jetbeam, Nitecore, Fenix, Olight, Sunway will be a safe bet. |

Romisen Rc-29 is similar but the head turns in order to focus as apposed to push and pull it in and out to focus as this one appears to in the add. Lighthound, Shining Beam both have options. I like the Quark because I can use a Nimh for around 90-110 lumens or a 14500 liion for 200 or more lumens. I like the standard Quark with a Tactical Quark switch. |
