Fuck. I wasn't fast enough especially when the deal is posted here, I.m only 90 mins from AIM too.
I still remembered when they had an FN SAW iirc, I wish I bought it. |

Quoted: I'll be that guy, because I am that guy. What, besides a roll mark, makes these better than PSA? Followup question: Was Colt the lowest bidder for LE AR's? View Quote Well, for one thing, last few panics Colt rifles were selling for really (like really) stupid prices. I still think resale value of a Colt would be miles better than an equal PSA. |

Missed the boat the last time they had some Colt LE trade-ins, so I was all over it this time as soon as the email hit my inbox.
Just now way to justify *not* snagging a few at that price especially with an election year upcoming. My last big AR buy was some OEM1s and 2s at like $800 in the run up to 2016. |

Quoted: Actually, at that price you can get a mid-length Nitride barrel with free-float MLok handguard, which makes it a better rifle than Colt's carbine-length gas system and standard handguard, in my personal opinion. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: I'll be that guy, because I am that guy. What, besides a roll mark, makes these better than PSA? Followup question: Was Colt the lowest bidder for LE AR's? At that price you’re not getting a chrome lined PSA barrel. You’ll have all nitride kit with a 9310 bolt. Have to spend almost $300 more with PSA to get the premium chrome lined. The Colt also won’t have a canted FSB and will be installed using a torque wrench instead of a 350 pound hoss with a breaker bar using his body weight. (Calm down I love PSA.) Actually, at that price you can get a mid-length Nitride barrel with free-float MLok handguard, which makes it a better rifle than Colt's carbine-length gas system and standard handguard, in my personal opinion. Plus, as some have mentioned, Colt refused sales to us Great Unwashed. Palmetto State Armory's mission statement from Day 1 has been "to put as many arms in common use as possible". It is why they get my business. |

I still think resale value of a Colt would be miles better than an equal PSA. What really makes a quality AR are the barrels and the BCG. Though Colt outsources them, they are still the same quality as when Colt made them. Colt barrels and BCGs are great. BCGs have excellent chrome lining, tight tolerances for gas, quality gas keys and fasteners. Chrome lined barrel that are gassed properly. Colt lowers are as Mil spec as it gets, just wished they were a true low shelf. Uppers are dry film lubed, T marked and obviously have M4 ramps, but so does PSA. Colt will have an H buffer, their famous castle nut staking and 4 position receiver extension. PSA has appeared to increase their quality as of late. I noticed they are using P&S stocks now. However, to compare a standard PSA vs even a new CR Colt is still no comparison. Anytime someone asks me what they should get for their first AR or what AR to build, I always say get a Colt OEM 2 and I will build the rest for you. I don’t think PSA rails are that bad, but I do think their barrel nuts sucks. They are usually aluminum and I have seen a few crack when removing or installing them. They should have the barrel nut wrench come with their railed weapons |

CZ owns them now and they’re cranking out OEM’s like crazy. I don’t own a Colt but the OEM series is the cheapest way into a chrome lined AR. |

I am not up to speed on prices these days, but that sounded like a steal for a Colt if they're not all beat up N_T style.
I still have a NIB LE6920HB from 2004, I bought it out of the EE when I joined the forum when the ban ended, not knowing only 300 were built for Specialized Armament Warehouse. I think that's the name of the business. Has anyone seen one sell lately and for how much? |

Quoted: Eactly. I got one for $350 a couple years ago with a light and Vickers sling. It had been taken care of. I would not buy one of those sight unseen. Under 500 rounds per year at my old agency. Why were yours worn out? Damn shame they are sold out. |

If a person ends up with an actual patrol AR, those are maybe get 50 to 100 rds a year. A SWAT or special unit might get shot 1k to 3k in a year. |

I need to get off the aim mailing list. Hopefully it’s not beat like a rented mule.

Used, condition unknown, CR for $630 or a new LE OEM2 for $741. Easy choice for me, and it isn’t the CR.

If a person ends up with an actual patrol AR, those are maybe get 50 to 100 rds a year. A SWAT or special unit might get shot 1k to 3k in a year. Our patrol rifles would be around 500 a year typically. SWAT more like 4-5k though. (A lot more if it was mine.) Always a danger when buying an LE trade in gun is that it was used by SWAT/instructors/people who just shoot, in that order. But chances are usually 80% or higher it was not. Best to get is a Glock that was only used by a trainee who washed out. Will have maybe 500-1000 rounds on it total. Sometimes guns were unfired and still traded in. Anyhow, I would buy a 6920 all day long at those prices, even if beat to hell from being carried. Colt is a known quantity, like it or not. I am a Colt snob after working on many Colts, Bushmasters, and S&W M&P’s, amongst other guns. Just less problems with a 6920. I love PSA, but sure would not carry one as my primary rifle unless I was just poor or had no choice. Hell- I have bought more than a few “used” 5.56 Colt barrels off the EE here, and also from a dealer who had LE traded in guns he parted out. All of those gauged near brand new. Only ever got one well worn 20” A2 barrel on a Colt surplus upper off Gunbroker, and one I got from an LEO who I worked with who bought it around 1998 and he carried it and shot it for about 20 years, it shows some throat erosion (but it was a ban era non-chrome lined barrel). Basically- most people don’t shoot their guns much, and good chrome line barrels last a long time in that situation! LE guns usually have been gone over by an armorer like me periodically, and even if the outside is beat, the parts that matter are likely good. |
