I'm looking into getting a laptop for personal use, leaning towards a gaming setup. My question is: What is the difference/benefit of using a T series (e.g. T9500) vs. an E series (e.g. E8400) vs. a Q series (Q6700)? I realize the examples I gave have different speeds, but they are just examples off the top of my head. I'm specifically wondering about the architecture, not the speed, when used in a laptop. Sager notebooks offer E and Q series in theirs while Dell offers the T and X series. Also, any input on other manufacturers is appreciated. I probably won't be buying this new but scouring around for a used one. I can save approx. $1000 by buying a new Sager over a new Dell. Thanks Blake |

editing.. Personally, I would get the E model. Q is 4 core, E and T are 2 core. Q run hotter than E, which runs hotter than T. Q is worst for battery life, T the best (most probably). T will have worse performance than E or Q. T is just a slowed down, cooler running version of E. For your stated use, E will be the 'fastest'.
