I currently have a Leica but I lose the dot visually in sunlight.

Anyone make a green laser one?

Don't get the Bosch GLM-40 rated for 165 ft.   Can't find the dot outside for the life of me past 20 ft.

The Leica disto comes with a pair of super cool looking red tinted shades. These are like the opposite of laser protection goggles for the red aiming diode laser.

They block out most of the non-red light in the scene, making the red laser light much more visible. If you didn't get any with the disto you can buy cheap on ebay. I have three pairs in my office as well that I bought.

If you have the camera Leica (like a Disto D8) the camera crosshairs also work too. It is expensive. A cheaper alternative is to take the 1/4-20TPI camera tripod mounting on the disto and place it on a picatinny rail to attach it to a green gun laser and or scope and or red dot.

I have done all of these things to use them to several hundred feet in bright sun.
