I would like to hear from anyone involved in MMA or boxing tournaments on Lasik eye procedure.  I would like to explore some new opportunities, and recently I got hit in the head so hard it knocked both contacts out.  I finished the fight but got hit a couple more times since I couldn't see them coming...on the ground it was less of a problem.

I'm concerned that if I get the Lasik and get hit in the head, I will be more prone to eye injury...Anyone here been there, done that?  Thanks.

I don't think you would be any less prone to injury since laser eye surgery only uses a laser to reshape the lens of the eye so that it can focus images properly on your retina.  There is an episode of "How it's Made" on the Discovery channel that graphically depicts the procedure if you're interested.

no no, wondering if I would be MORE prone to injury, not less.

I am now 2 months post LASIK.

Per my surgeon, whom I trust implicitly,  once you are 100% healed, you are no more prone to eye injury than you were pre surgery.
