I was jamming on the new axe yesterday....plays like a dream. fingerboard and frets are the best fret job I have seen period. I was very suprised by the DMT pickups. ....damn they are sweet.
the headstock is HUGE! I love the paint job...will look bad ass on stage. I would say this....this V is better than any Gibson I have owned or currently own. A few weeks ago I bought a Rudy Schenker Gibson V....the Dean kicks the Gibsons ass up and down. |

That looks like a fun guitar to play. I like the way it looks. I have never been a huge fan of the Dean headstocks, but everything looks really nice together on that guitar.
I have never owned a Dean, but I noodled around with one once. I agree, I prefer them to Gibson's flying Vs. Several years ago I had a black regular gibson V. I never could get it dialed in the way I wanted. Nice find... Especially for the price. |

I have been a die hard V player since the 70's ..and prefer the smaller Gibson headstocks...(70's series)...but I couldn't argue with the price at all! LOL I had been looking at the Schenker flames model for a while...found the smoking deal when I was browsing through Guitar Center's used section. I think they did not do their homework...as on the receipt it has the standard model listed....not the Custom flames model. I doubt it will replace my Gibsons...but it looks and sounds bad ass! |
