I am kind of surprised that there isn't already a Lavalantula thread. Syfy seems to have hit on something. They have been making those stupid ass creature features for years, and then, someone had a stroke of genius. Make a stupid ass creature feature making fun of the Syfy stupid ass creature features. Sharknado was...OK, I never watched a whole Sharknado, but it was apparently a hit. But I did watch Lavalantula, and I fucking loved it! It was funny and awesome! Steve Gutenberg playing a washed up actor fighting fire breathing spiders with a 12 gauge and having stupid cheesy lines, while deliberately making fun of stupid cheesy action movie lines. And the scientist, he was great! 'The tunnels will lead to the queen's chamber...the Mommalantula!' I literally busted out laughing! Maybe I am dumb, maybe this is genius...possibly both! But these movies are awesome. To my complete dismay, I did not DVR 2 Lava 2 Lantula...but I have it scheduled for next week. The ads look great! 'That's no Mommalantula. That's a Gargantulantula!'  |
