Has anyone done it? I've had a weird craving to buy a cheap harp and learn how to play it for the last few years

My mom and sister both play the harp, I dont think there is such a thing as a cheap harp.

There's a few on EBAY for $100 or so. Whether it actually is within an octave of being in key is another issue

I've always wanted to learn as well, everyone I ever talked to about it told me that it is the most difficult instrument in the world to learn. That and the fact that a decent, middle of the road harp can be priced above 10k has kept me away.

I find playing classic hits on weird instruments to be a lot of fun. For example, I love playing the theme to Rocky on my Concertina.

thats what I thought he was talking about as well- Harp = Harmonica when I hear it. I used to always call it a harmonica but evryone who plays a harmonica calls it a harp

The woman who teaches my children piano also plays harp and piano for the local symphony and on occasion at local events. I'm sure you can find someone but if my experience is any indication don't expect it to be cheap.
