Got a snail mail the other day from TAMU, "What will be your legacy?" While I haven't opened it yet, I am pretty sure they are asking for money.

Mom believed that instead of using money to build monuments, we ought to put that money into scholarships. Usefulness wise, that seems like a good notion to me, but legacy wise, it probably isn't.

For this or that scholarship, do they really know anything about the person the money came from? I doubt it.

So how should one's legacy be? Should one be remembered? And whether they are or not, would it really make a difference to them in the long run?

Do it with scholarships in the Department you care about. It will help a student more that way.
