I was never much of a car person, but when I was a teen, I saw a Deusenberg SJ in a classic car book, that became the car I wanted. 16 year old me would have taken this over a Trans AM, with no hesitation.

Early on, the Alphas of the Greatest Decade were obviously the Testarossa and Countach. I had posters of a red T and white C:
  I didn't even know at first what the most beautiful modern Ferrari actually was (288 GTO) but when I saw them back in the day, assumed they were just updated Magnum P.I. 308s.  Honorable mention to various Porsche 930 Turbos:  Later on, the new Alphas were the 959 and especially F40, King of the '80s.   F40 is still champ to this day. And by all accounts, still most of the most magical to drive for thrills (scary but rewarding). And by the time I started learning about REAL race cars, I got into the 935 and 962: I have a 1:18 model of a Jager 935 K3 in my home bar:  And a Jager 962C:  And a Jager BMW M1 Group 4:  If I could drive a Ferrari F40 LM or GTE with 720 HP and did nothing else, I would consider my life a success.  They lapped even faster than the McLaren F1s of the day on the endurance racing circuits but were not as lucky or reliable.   |

The modification rabbit hole was never ending, but fun.  One of the absolute greatest I-6s ever made, and one of the best 6-speeds manuals (German Getrag). Absolutely terrifying  high speed acceleration. I thought of the Supra as my F40. Would be even better with a modern dual-clutch paddle shift tranny.

Lamborghini Miura SV - Just pure teenage lust.
 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS396 - My babysitter's boyfriend took me for a ride in his when I was 9 years old. First time in a fast car.  1976 Ferarri 308 GTB - My friend's Dad owned one.  The crazy thing is my 2016 Ford F150 3.5L EcoBoost will out run all of those to 60 mph. (The Lambo barely, the other two pretty handily...) |

As a kid (age 5 to 10), I thought KITT from Knight Rider was cool, the car from Ghost Busters, the Ninja Turtles Party Wagon, the Batmobile from the Michael Keaton Batman movies, and the DeLorean from Back to the Future.

Always wanted a Mustang LX Hatch. The dream was to have a 12 second foxbody.
Ended up with a 97 Cobra. Wanted a car that would do high 12s in the 1/4, but it's gone it's quick as 11.6 on a drag wheel/ tire setup. Currently set up for a fun street car. I never really had the opportunity to have one. They were pretty rare in the states. I've never seen one here and I only saw one in Germany at a repair/performance shop. I was cruising by, saw it and went in and chatted with the dude there about it. He was cool and took me out, opened it up and let me check it out. I had a 16v mk2 GTI, a mk1 GTI and a couple of other mk1&mk2 cars. I got out of VWs as I got older for some reason. |
