Of all things this rifle seems to like M855 compared to 55gr .223 or M193. The rear sight could be better but it's a pretty fun range toy

The Woo that @Miami_JBT sold me
https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/142208/IMG_20200607_072552001_jpg-1815999.JPG
I need to shoot this thing more often. That being said though it's a really cool design that I wish somebody in the states would make.

Is it as accurate as an AR...no, that's what happens with a long stroke gas piston. However though it's damn near fool proof.

I noticed mine seems to like Korean made PMC 55gr .223...go figure

You can just cut to the chase and say that the XCR-L is the best of the non-AR 5.56 rifles. ;)

I came to suggest this.  I don't have one but want one.  Its on the back burner for now though due to battle rifle project.

Barrels 12.5" on the LC model.  They pin & weld an extension to make it 16".  The other thing people don't realize is you can't just swap a collapsible stock (if you can even find one) onto a L model without changing other parts. Spain only made around 500 or so LC models.  They're not cheap ($2000), but once MalColMar sells out, they'll probably start going up in price.

Here's how it should look.

Yes.  With choice of rail or no rail.  The original versions were green with no rail if you're a purist.  I went with a rail, as I like the optic option. And with an ADM low detach mount, you get a co-witness.

It’s an outdated weapon, there is no oem solution. You either bust out a roll of duct tape or a dremel (if you’re brave enough)

Haven't even thought about a light, but this is now being offered.  These aren't going to replace your modern whizz-bang tacticool rifle, I see these as more of an enjoyable, light recoiling, range toy.  I liked my first one so much, I now have 3. 2 MalColMars & an HMG.

The folding charging handle was a limited run made by “Mountainman” from the XCRforum (before that forum went to hell). I don’t know if he’s on arfcom, but that run was almost 10 years ago now. The ACR stock adapter was another limited run from “Ezed”.

Closest thing to an "non-AR" 5.56 I have ever owned.

I still want an AUG, but chances of that dwindle as time progresses. Lately, passing on that pawn shop $1200 MSAR a couple years ago is looking like a mistake.

I haven't seen that bayonet in ten years, and it is driving me nuts trying to remember where I put it.  Coincidentally, it's replacement is coming in today's mail.

Which means that I will find it this evening....

I had a 43 back in the 80s and used it as my patrol rifle. Other Deputy’s thought I couldn’t afford a Mini 14!  One that I wish I had kept. Bought it for $600 and sold it for a staggering $900.

BRN-180 is the finest 5.56 firearm on the market.

It puts every AR I own to shame.

Smooth as silk.

I own a shitload of ARs. The BRN-180 is my favorite non select fire weapon in 5.56.

The Sig 556 has got the most pleasant recoil impulse of any gun in that caliber that I own.  After years of suffering its weird trigger, finally spent a few minutes to improve it.  All it took was adjusting the nut behind the trigger (oddly enough, the actual nut; not me).

My .223s are M-16A1 Colt and Hydra w/ Colt NOS A1 parts, HK-93 w/ navy style trigger packs, Wood stocked 1970s Rem 700 Varmint bull barrel I use for Prairie pups, A Ruger #1 that I have passed to my youngest son, and a Ruger Mini-14 183-Series that is accurate with 55 grain ammo. Has a 1:10 twist from Ruger.

My A1 clone (603?) is my knock-a-bout the farm and woods gun. Simple, light and easy to carry. Irons and a sling only w/20 rnd GI mags

A Mini-14 was the first centerfire rifle I ever bought. Shitty sights, shitty thin barrel. They have improved it somewhat but it's still inferior to just about everything else. CETME L looks cool, HKs Brens and some Euro SIGs are cool.
I am going to be out of collecting mode for the foreseeable future.
