I've seen the movie a couple of times but just watched it for pure entertainment and didn't really pay attention to much.
It's on TV tonight and I'm watching it again but noticing some of the details. When he first starts on his search and ends up in a basement tattoo shop there was an older guy who noticed his father's or FIL's FBI badge that he was flashing around was expired. Then Nobody flashes some cash around and the old dude that caught the fake badge see's a tattoo on Nobody's wrist and promptly unasses the place. Whats the significance of that tatt? Did I miss something or is it expounded on later? Also any other comments regarding the movie are welcome. |

It’s the worst hand you can be dealt in Texas Hold’em.
Odds are against you, off suit, can’t do a straight, pretty easy to be beat out by higher cards dealt to other players. Another words, dude can be in a shit situation and have no fear of the odds stacked against him. ETA: As in ‘No fucks given’ type of attitude in a bad situation. |

From IMDB Trivia for Nobody:
"The tattoo on Hutch's wrist, a Seven of Spades and a Two of Diamonds, is statistically the worst possible starting hand you can be dealt in Texas Hold 'Em, since they are the lowest two cards that cannot make a straight (there are four cards between 2 and 7), and both of them are off-suit. Meaning if you ever see these two cards, you should fold immediately, because you are most likely never going to win. In Tarot readings, the Spade/Sword is linked to bad luck, death, and violence, while Diamonds/Coins are linked to money. Translation: This man dealt in death and violence for money." |

Have it on dvd. Never cared for Oldenkirk but he nailed this role. I've probably watched Nobody more than almost any other movie (except Diehard). Story really good, good flow and action. Music soundtrack (didn't get any credit in the extra features) was genius. The Russians were actually played by real Russians. Christopher Lloyd was a bonus. Being a former adrenaline junkie I could relate to that slight smile he got on his face when the Russians got on the bus. As with most action movies there are a few times you just have suspend disbelief, relax and enjoy.

The best way I heard it summed up was, "2-7 is the last hand you ever want to see in Hold em. And Hutch was the last guy you ever wanted to see."

I never even heard of that movie. When I saw references to Nobody on here, I thought they were talking about the Western.

His dad has the same tattoo. You can briefly see it after he shotguns the bad guys.

He explained a little bit of what he did in the movie, usually while the bad guys are dying/dead. I don't usually care for Odenkirk but I liked this movie. Hopefully the next one will be as good.
Now if a sequel should be made, it should Sicario 3. |

Quoted: Quoted: What exactly is a 4.9v8? A 289 Ford? Isn’t the 318 a 5.2? Yeah, that part really irked me. What, you never heard of the famed 300CID Hemi super turbocharged engine? This was probably put in by some script writer who walked out to his car, popped the hood and saw 2.4 liters on his engine and doubled it plus a little bit thinking it would mean massive HP. |
