$189 was big money back then.  Comparatively speaking AR's are cheaper now than they've ever been.  I remember the first AR I saw someone buy.  Early seventies, 400-ish.  I remember thinking that was a hell of a lot of money for a rifle.

I want a time machine that can handle A COUPLE DOZEN LOADED BOXCARS of bring-back 1960s goodies.  The big, 90-foot autoparts boxcars to be specific.

ALL the civilian market M-16s, the AR-15s and lots of WWII surplus stuff would be mine.
