I doubt I will get a response, or that they really care. However, it only took a minute to write, and they need to know they are stupid. Just getting sick of all the inaccurate reporting which is both due to ignorance or is on purpose.
This is in response to the article A Newtown teacher's boyfriend remembers his love,By Ashley Fantz. Poppy Harlow and Laura Dolan. The article includes a factual inaccuracy that may be included to purposely mislead the general public. The direct quote is "Adam Lanza, 20 years old, was armed with a Glock, a Sig Sauer and a rifle like the kind soldiers use in war." As a Soldier who had my own rifle in war, I assure you that his was nothing like mine. His weapon was a semi-automatic rifle, which means one shot per trigger pull, in layman's terms. If you would like further information on the differences between semi-automatic and automatic weapons, please feel free to call me to avoid future innacurate reporting. |

That is a rather careful parsing of the word that does not change the substance of what the person wrote. While I understand your motivation, I really don't see the difference it makes. The rifle was "like" the military uses--not exactly the same, but similar in many ways. The real question is, "What difference does that make?" |

its all the same to them
they also state that you can buy an "assault rifle" on line and have it shipped to your home further more ... we should have the same weapons our military have the point of the 2A is that the people are armed in case of the government over stepping their authority or in case a foreigh government attacks us. I hate the fact that people say we shouldnt have what our military have because we should have just as much remember it was the average farmer that faught off the red coats with the same weapons if the governement said we couldnt have the same weapons the people would have been fighting with sling shots I wish they would separate illegally possesed gun crime from legally possesed gun crime and also compare the numbers of crime stopped by legal gun owners the mentality of "the spoon made me fat" and the thought that laws are going prevent the criminals from getting firearms is absurd if gun crimes will stop by making all guns illegal then we should do the same with crack and other drugs...oh I forgot that they are illegal and people still get them easily. remember the people calling for more gun control have little knoledge about firearms the problem these days is that the people making the laws have no clue about the subject they are judging. |

The "weapon used in war" is really getting my nerves.
All bolt action .308 hunting rifles then are "weapon like the military uses in war" i.e. a sniper rifle. I'd like the MSM to point out ONE RIFLE OR PISTOL caliber, aside from the .50 that our military has used in the last 100 years that wasn't also a popular hunting rifle caliber? Prior to the US Military opting for a less powerful round with less recoil, our battle rifles were .308 and 30-06...otherwise known as the most popular deer hunting calibers on earth. |

They won't reply. I've sent them a fair share of letters in regards to the utter fail that Ashley Banfield spouts and I've never recieved anything from them. They don't give a fuck what you say....you're a conservative and not part of their plan. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I figured no one would reply. I had two minutes to spare so I figured I'd try.
I understand that the wording implies it is "like" weapons military uses, but for the ignorant public, it is a meaningful distortion to make them think it was automatic, since that is what the ignorant public thinks military weapons are. Of course the bulk of military weapons are at the most 3 round burst, but thats getting into semantics. It just get's frustrating. I am educating my co-workers as much as I can. Guess that's all you can do. |

I think its a mistake to demonize full auto weapons in the hope to show that semi auto are less dangerous.. The second amendment protect all these weapons, and it has been infringed on since 1934...
I'd rather pinpoint that the so demonized full auto guns owned legally in America have been used in exactl y 2 (TWO) crimes only since 1934.. I'd also pinpoint that in 2011, so call assault weapons have cause less than 3% of gun related death (including suicides and justifiable homicides) in the USA.. That is 323 death. Knifes are responsible for 435 deaths, and bear hands for 700+ deaths.. The second amendment is your strongest argument. You should emphasis on it. If anti gunners want to ban these type of guns, they have to get rid of the second amendment. But they have to do it through a constitutional convention, and even during this mediatic hysteria, it would never work out. |
